Aggressive XAUUSD M1 Range Breakout Expert Advisor
Orion Range Guard is an automated Expert Advisor developed specifically for GOLD (XAUUSD) on the M1 timeframe.
It is designed as an aggressive capital-growth system. It is NOT a low-risk investment product and it does NOT guarantee profit.
CORE TRADING CONCEPT
Orion builds a daily reference range between 00:00 and 07:00 broker/server time.
After the range is completed, the EA prepares for a breakout of the established Range High or Range Low.
The system evaluates the current range structure together with account and broker conditions before opening and managing trades.

IMPORTANT: Range times use broker/server time. Different brokers may use different server time zones and daylight-saving schedules. This can change the exact range and therefore the trading results.
XAUUSD M1 FOCUS
Orion was developed primarily for XAUUSD on M1.
It should not be assumed that the same behavior or performance will be achieved on Forex pairs, indices, cryptocurrencies, other metals or other timeframes.

DYNAMIC POSITION SIZING
Orion does not use one fixed lot size forever.
Before a new trade, the system can evaluate:
- Equity
- Free margin
- Range size
- Broker margin requirements
- Spread
- Structural price distance
- Available capital reserve
- Current risk capacity
This allows position size to decrease after losses and increase as account conditions improve.
Dynamic sizing does NOT remove risk. It only adapts exposure to current conditions.
SAFELOT / CAPITAL RESERVE
Orion is designed to avoid automatically committing the entire account capacity to every trade.
The lot engine keeps part of the capital available as reserve and can restrict trade size according to margin, range structure and internal safety calculations.
This is especially important on gold because XAUUSD can move very quickly and can produce large intraday price swings.
RANGE-ADAPTIVE ATTACK SIZE
Not every daily range is treated the same.
Small, medium and very large ranges represent different market conditions.
Orion can adjust how aggressively it uses available trading capacity according to the measured range.
The objective is not to use the largest possible lot on every trade, but to adapt exposure to the current structure.
BREAKOUT MANAGEMENT
After the daily range is completed, Orion prepares its breakout structure.
The EA can prepare both directions while waiting for the market to choose a side. Once one side is activated, the opposite pending setup can be removed.
Orion is NOT designed as a classic grid system that continuously accumulates positions.
It is also NOT an unlimited martingale chain.
The core process is:
RANGE -> BREAKOUT -> MANAGEMENT -> DEFENSIVE ACTION IF NEEDED -> EXIT
GUARD DEFENSIVE REVERSE LOGIC
Gold frequently produces false breakouts, strong wicks and rapid range re-entry.
If the original breakout becomes structurally dangerous, Orion can close the failing exposure and transfer the trading idea to the opposite direction.
The Guard mechanism is not designed to create endless BUY/SELL reversal chains. It is a controlled defensive response when the original breakout structure has failed.
The opposite side of the daily range can be used as a recovery objective.
RANGE FALLBACK RESCUE
Orion includes a Range Fallback Rescue mechanism for situations where price strongly invalidates the original breakout.
The rescue system can use its own position-size limits, margin checks, structural stop logic, recovery targets and time controls.
A rescue trade can also lose. Recovery is never guaranteed.
AGGRESSIVE TIMED RESCUE
Recovery exposure is not intended to remain unhealthy indefinitely.
Orion includes time-aware rescue management. If the expected recovery does not develop within the intended conditions, the EA can apply additional management or close the rescue according to its logic.
STRUCTURAL RISK MANAGEMENT
XAUUSD often produces:
- Large wicks
- False breakouts
- Liquidity sweeps
- Sudden volatility expansion
- Range re-entry
- Fast reversals
For this reason Orion does not rely only on extremely tight stop losses.
Trades may receive structural room when appropriate.
This also means that individual losing trades can be large.
HIGH HISTORICAL WIN RATE DOES NOT MEAN LOW RISK.
NO CLASSIC GRID / NO UNLIMITED MARTINGALE
Orion is not designed as a traditional fixed-distance grid EA and it is not designed to repeatedly double position size after every loss.
Position sizing and rescue behavior are based on account conditions, range structure, available margin and internal risk calculations.
However, Orion remains an AGGRESSIVE Expert Advisor.
NEWS AND VOLATILITY
The core Orion strategy is based on price and range behavior rather than predicting economic news.
Gold can become extremely volatile during CPI, NFP, FOMC, central-bank decisions, geopolitical events and unexpected macroeconomic announcements.
Spread expansion, slippage and rapid price gaps can occur.
No news filter can guarantee protection from these conditions.

UNDERSTANDING THE WIN RATE
A historical win rate around 97% does NOT mean that future trades have a guaranteed 97% probability of winning.
Orion historically produced many winning trades and relatively few losing trades in the demonstrated period, but losing trades can be significantly larger than average winning trades.
Do not evaluate Orion only by win rate.

AGGRESSIVE CAPITAL GROWTH
Orion was designed to grow trading capital aggressively.
As the account grows, the dynamic lot engine can gain access to greater trading capacity.
This can accelerate compounding.
But compounding works in both directions:
Larger account -> potentially larger lot
Larger lot -> potentially larger profit
Larger lot -> potentially larger monetary loss
This is why regular profit withdrawals are strongly recommended.
RECOMMENDED PROFIT WITHDRAWAL APPROACH
Do not treat the maximum balance shown in a backtest as the goal.
A trading profit remains exposed while it stays inside the trading account.
Two possible approaches:
80/20 approach:
Withdraw approximately 80% of accumulated realized profits and leave approximately 20% in the account for additional growth.
90/10 approach:
Withdraw approximately 90% of accumulated realized profits and leave approximately 10% in the account for more conservative compounding.
These are recommendations only, not mandatory rules.
The idea is simple:

LEVERAGE AND MARGIN
Leverage strongly affects available margin.
Lower leverage can reduce available position size, increase margin usage and prevent some trades from opening.

For automated trading, a stable VPS close to the broker's trading server is recommended.
