FNATIC remain the world's best team and the gap is widening

CS:GO has always struggled for a consistently updated and coherent set of World Rankings, with so many teams attending different events and the difficulty of judging the context of which event's results should count for more than another. Rather than construct some kind of elaborate point system and place my expertise into the task of allocating which would receive how many points, I've instead looked back over the recent form of each of the teams out there and determined, according to my own analysis and intuition, which team ranks where in my global top 10.

Offline results are the only ones I take into consideration. In general, I consider the results of a team across a range of around three months, with those at the beginning of that period being weighted a little less, in contrast to more recent tournament results. Finishes, consistency, current form and opponents faced are all factors to be weighed up and considered.

Since the last edition of the rankings we've had Acer Predator Masters S2, Global eSports Cup S1, the MLG Columbus Qualifier, ESL Expo Barcelona and the IEM X World Championship.

FNATIC remain the world's best team and the gap is widening. They've lost two of their event victories, but added two more to cheap csgo keys replace them. ESL Barcelona was of less significance to the rankings, being a Bo1 exhibition tournament with a unique format, but they still won it nonetheless and scored numerous map wins over top teams, taking down nV and Astralis. For all the criticism of how competitive the top tier of CS:GO is right now, FNATIC are dominant.

They've lost three Bo3 series over six tournaments and the team who delivered two of those losses (EnVyUs) can't even get to finals to potentially deny them a title. Outside of nV, it's a sorry story, as FNATIC have beaten Astralis in three Bo3 over the last three months and Na`Vi and Luminosity have each fallen in both a Bo3 and a Bo5 to the Swedish overlords.
