TrendLens - Multi-Timeframe Trend Indicator with Trend Cloud, No-Repaint Arrows and Trade Plan
TrendLens shows the trend of a higher timeframe directly on the chart you trade. Candles are coloured by trend, unclear phases turn grey, and a clean on-chart panel tells you in plain words what the market is doing. It works on any symbol (forex, gold, indices, crypto CFDs) and on any timeframe from M1 to D1.
The idea is simple: trade in the direction of the bigger trend, stay out when the trend is not clear, and always know where your stop loss and take profit would be.
What you see on the chart
Trend candles
- Every candle is coloured by the trend of the timeframe you choose: green = up, red = down, grey = uncertain.
- Grey candles mark sideways or weak phases, the moments when many traders lose money by forcing trades.
- Clean view hides the original chart candles, so only the trend candles remain.
Trend cloud
- The area between the fast and the slow EMA of the trend timeframe is shaded green or red.
- You see at a glance why the candles have their colour and how far price is from the trend.
EMA 200
- The classic long moving average of the chart timeframe, used by many traders as the line between bull and bear markets. Period and colour are adjustable.
Daily VWAP
- The volume-weighted average price of the current day, reset every day. Many intraday traders use it as support, resistance or "fair price" of the session. Optional, one click to show or hide.
No-repaint signal arrows
- An arrow appears on the first candle after a confirmed trend change of the higher timeframe.
- Each candle uses the last closed candle of the higher timeframe, so colours and arrows never change after they appear.
Trade plan
- For the last signal TrendLens draws the entry, a suggested stop loss and a suggested take profit (based on ATR, multipliers adjustable).
- The panel shows the lot size for the risk you choose, for example 1% of the balance. It uses your broker's real contract values.
Key levels
- Previous-day high and low and today's open, drawn as labelled lines.
Market sessions
- Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York boxes with the session range. Hours (GMT) and colours are adjustable. Outline or filled.
The control panel
Everything can be changed with one click, without opening the settings:
- ON/OFF switch for the whole indicator.
- Trend timeframe menu: M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1.
- Switches: Arrows, Sessions, Levels, Plan, Alerts, Clean view, Cloud, EMA 200, VWAP.
- Status line in plain words: "H1 trend: UP since 14:00", trend strength, current spread and time left to the candle close.
- Multi-timeframe dashboard: the trend on M15, H1, H4 and D1 at the same time.
- Minimize button for a clean chart.
- Light and dark theme: the panel follows the chart background automatically.
- The panel size is adjustable and it adapts to high-resolution screens.
- Your choices are remembered separately for each chart, also after changing timeframe or restarting MetaTrader.
Alerts
- Popup, push notification to the MetaTrader mobile app and e-mail when a new arrow appears.
- Optional breakout alerts when price breaks the previous-day high or low, or the Asian-session (Tokyo) range. Each level alerts once per day.
How the trend is defined
On the selected trend timeframe:
- Up: fast EMA above slow EMA, close above the fast EMA, and ADX above the minimum.
- Down: fast EMA below slow EMA, close below the fast EMA, and ADX above the minimum.
- Uncertain: everything else.
Sensitivity presets (no numbers needed):
- Low: EMA 34 / 89, ADX minimum 25. Fewer, slower signals.
- Normal: EMA 21 / 55, ADX minimum 20.
- High: EMA 9 / 21, ADX minimum 15. More, faster signals.
- Custom: your own EMA periods, ADX period and minimum.
How to use it
1. Attach TrendLens to a chart.
2. Choose the trend timeframe in the panel. A common rule is 4 to 6 times the chart timeframe: M5 chart with H1 trend, M15 with H1, H1 with H4, H4 with D1.
3. Look for trades only in the direction of the candle colour. Grey candles = wait.
4. Use the arrows and the trade plan as a starting point for your entry, stop loss and position size.
5. Turn on alerts if you do not want to watch the chart all day.

- The trade plan is a suggestion to help with risk management, not a guarantee of results.
- Session hours are in GMT; adjust them for daylight saving time if needed.
- The daily VWAP uses real volume when the broker provides it, otherwise tick volume.
- Trading involves risk. Past signals do not guarantee future results. Test the indicator on a demo account first.
