The Cybernetic Cycle Oscillator for MetaTrader 5 is an indicator designed to reduce the lag inherent in traditional indicators. This MT5 version is a direct adaptation of the classic CyberCyclesOscillator found on the Thinkorswim platform, whose mathematical logic is based on John Ehlers' developments presented in his book Cybernetic Analysis for Stocks and Futures.
Mathematical Foundations and Code Structure
Unlike conventional oscillators, which tend to react late to trend changes because they are based on simple averages, Ehlers' indicator applies Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts to price series, which also makes it extraordinarily well-suited for identifying divergences:

In its initial stage, the algorithm processes the data through a filter, mitigating noise without introducing significant phase lag.

Through Ehlers' equations, the code extracts the asset's dominant cyclic component, transforming chaotic fluctuations into structured waves.

The code plots two key lines: the Cycle Line (which follows the primary cycle) and the Signal Line (a shifted version). While the crossover between the two is important, its effectiveness in spotting divergences is even more significant.
MT5 Implementation
The indicator was developed natively in MQL5 to ensure smooth execution on the platform. It operates intuitively across various timeframes and financial assets, providing a clear reading of market rhythm based on signal engineering.
