structured H1 breakout workflow. It is intended for traders who prefer a clear operating profile, defined session windows, and practical risk controls instead of a crowded chart.
RECOMMENDED STARTING SETUP
- Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold). The EA works on the chart symbol, so this starting profile is documented for a Gold chart.
- Chart timeframe: H1.
- Account type: MT5 Raw ECN or another low-spread account.
- Suggested account leverage: 1:500 or higher for margin flexibility. This is an account consideration, not an EA setting.
- Trade direction: Buy and Sell enabled.
- Breakout zones: A1 and B1 enabled. Keep A2, A3, B2 and B3 disabled for the default profile.
- Trading sessions: London, London/New York overlap and New York enabled. Asia disabled.
- Maximum spread: 35 points.
- Risk mode: Risk percentage mode enabled at 1.0%.
- Fixed-lot alternative: 0.01 lot. Use this only if you prefer fixed sizing instead of percentage risk.
- Equity sizing: Enabled.
- Margin check: Enabled.
- Daily drawdown control: 7.5% of peak equity.
- Stop loss: 3000 points.
- Trailing and break-even: Disabled by default. Enable them only after testing the behaviour with your own broker conditions.
- Weekend protection: Close-before-weekend enabled.
- News filter: High-impact events, NFP and USD holidays enabled. The filter uses the built-in offline calendar settings.
HOW THE EA WORKS
Obsidian Sentinel first checks whether trading is allowed for the current session. It then checks the enabled H1 breakout zones, the current spread, the news filter and the daily drawdown limit. If these controls allow trading, the EA manages entries around the configured A1 and B1 breakout structure.
Position size is calculated from the selected risk method. With the default profile, the calculation uses account equity and a 1.0% risk setting. Before an order is managed, the EA also checks available margin. The defined stop loss and any enabled protection settings are then used for trade management.
The Obsidian Command Card remains in the upper-left corner of the chart. It shows balance, equity, current drawdown, closed daily, weekly and monthly results, and the open positions being managed by the EA. The panel is informational only and does not alter entry or exit rules.
