WHAT IS OPEN RANGE BREAKOUT PRO?
Open Range Breakout Pro is a fully-featured, all-in-one trading indicator built exclusively for MetaTrader 5. It automatically identifies the Opening Range — the high and low formed during the first configurable minutes of a trading session — and then detects, visualises, and alerts you to high-probability breakout opportunities the moment price escapes that range.
Beyond the core strategy, the indicator ships with a professional dual-dashboard system, a one-click interactive market switcher, and a real-time Session Volume Profile — giving you a complete trading workstation on a single chart.
CORE ORB STRATEGY ENGINE
The indicator automatically identifies the opening consolidation window for any market and session, then monitors for decisive breakout moves. Every element is drawn directly on the chart — no sub-windows, no clutter.
Feature Details
Auto ORB Detection Detects the Open Range for any user-defined session start time (HH:MM broker time) and duration (5, 15, 30, 60 min — your choice).
ORB Box Visualisation A clean black rectangle is drawn around the detected Open Range, clearly marking the high and low boundaries for the session.
Breakout Entry Arrows A bold BUY arrow appears when price closes above the ORB High. A SELL arrow appears on a close below the ORB Low. First signal only — no noise.
Retest Confirmation Optional secondary arrows fire when price pulls back to the broken ORB level and respects it — confirming the level has flipped from resistance to support (or vice versa).
Volume Strength Filter Each breakout bar is checked against an N-bar average tick volume. Only bars exceeding your multiplier threshold trigger a signal, eliminating low-conviction fakeouts.
SL / TP Levels Immediately after a breakout, three horizontal lines are drawn: Entry (blue), Stop Loss (red dotted — beyond the opposite ORB level), Take Profit (green dotted — calculated using your Reward:Risk ratio).
Dashed Level Lines Green and red dashed lines extend from the ORB High and Low to the right, serving as ongoing reference levels throughout the session.
Multi-Timeframe Works on any timeframe from M1 to MN. Recommended: M5–M30 for equities, M15–H1 for Forex.
DASHBOARD 1 — LIVE TRADING COMMAND CENTRE
The main dashboard is pinned to the upper-left corner of the chart and refreshes on every tick, giving you a complete market overview without switching windows or panels.
ORB STATUS
Real-time display of: Waiting / Building / Complete / BREAKOUT ACTIVE. Shows ORB High, ORB Low, and breakout direction with colour-coded status.
MARKET SESSION
Live GMT clock with colour-coded session display: Asian (gold), London (blue), New York (orange), London/NY Overlap (magenta — highest volatility), Closed (grey).
ACCOUNT OVERVIEW
Live Balance, Equity, floating P&L (green/red coded), and Free Margin — all updating every tick. OPEN POSITIONS
Total open trade count plus individual position details: symbol, direction Stop Loss level, and per-trade P&L — all live.
MARKET SENTIMENT
Price-action sentiment calculated from the last 20 closed bars. Displays Bullish % vs Bearish % with a visual progress bar showing the current market bias.
SYMBOL & SPREAD
Current symbol, active timeframe, and live spread in points shown at a glance at the top of the dashboard.
DASHBOARD 2 — INTERACTIVE MARKET SWITCHER
The Markets panel sits directly to the right of Dashboard 1. It displays a fully live 10-instrument watchlist — and every instrument is a clickable button.
Click any symbol and the chart instantly switches to that market while keeping your current timeframe. The ORB indicator reloads automatically on the new symbol — no dragging, no menus, no delays. One click = live chart.
ONE-CLICK
SWITCH Click EUR/USD → chart instantly becomes EUR/USD. Click Gold → chart becomes XAUUSD. The active symbol is highlighted in blue so you always know what you're watching.
The watchlist shows three columns of live data for all 10 instruments:
Symbol display name (e.g. EUR/USD, Gold, S&P 500, DAX 40)
Live Bid price — updated every tick
Daily change % — colour-coded green (up) or red (down)

SESSION VOLUME PROFILE — PROFESSIONAL MARKET STRUCTURE
The built-in Session Volume Profile analyses every bar since the session open and builds a real-time market structure map pinned to the right edge of your chart — exactly like a professional trading platform.
Feature Details
Point of Control (POC) The price level with the highest total volume for the session, highlighted with a bold yellow strip across the full profile width and a dashed price-level line.
Value Area High (VAH) Upper boundary of the 70% Value Area — where 70% of all session volume traded. Shown as a dotted cyan horizontal line with a price label.
Value Area Low (VAL) Lower boundary of the 70% Value Area. Together, VAH and VAL define the key area of acceptance and are critical support/resistance levels.
Buy / Sell Volume Bars Each price row shows Green (buy-side) and Red (sell-side) volume bars extending left from the price axis. Green sits closest to the axis, red extends further left — identical to institutional VP tools.
Value Area Shading The area between VAH and VAL is tinted blue, making the acceptance zone instantly visible at a glance.
Right-Edge Anchored The profile is rendered using pixel-space objects anchored to CORNER_RIGHT_UPPER and redrawn on chart scroll/zoom events — it never floats into candle history.
Fully Configurable Number of price bins (10–60), profile width in pixels, buy/sell/POC/VA colours, Value Area percentage (default 70%), and label toggle — all adjustable in inputs.

The indicator automatically applies a clean, professional chart style on load — no manual setup required:

Never miss a breakout. Three independent alert channels fire the moment a confirmed breakout bar closes:
Popup Alert — MT5 dialog box with symbol and price details
Sound Alert — plays any .wav file from your MQL5\Sounds\ folder
Push Notification — sends to the MetaTrader mobile app (requires MetaQuotes ID in MT5 options)
Each alert type can be independently toggled on or off in the inputs.
RISK MANAGEMENT TOOLS
The indicator calculates and draws position sizing guidance automatically after each breakout signal:
Entry line (blue solid) — breakout bar close price
Stop Loss line (red dotted) — beyond the opposite ORB level + configurable buffer in points
Take Profit line (green dotted) — Entry + (Entry − SL) × your Reward:Risk ratio
Risk % input — set your maximum risk per trade as a percentage of account balance

ORB Core Settings
Feature Details
Session Start Broker-time HH:MM when the opening range begins. Match your instrument's primary session open.
ORB Duration (min) Length of the opening range window. Common values: 5, 15, 30, 60.
Volume Filter Toggle the tick-volume strength filter on/off.
Volume Multiplier Breakout bar must exceed average volume × this value. Higher = stricter filter.
Volume Lookback Number of bars used to calculate the average volume baseline.
Retest Signals Show secondary confirmation arrows when price returns to and respects the broken level.
Retest Tolerance How many points from the ORB level counts as a valid retest touch.
Risk Management
Feature Details
Risk Per Trade % Percentage of account balance at risk. Used for position size guidance.
Reward:Risk Ratio Take Profit is calculated as Entry + (Entry − SL) × this ratio. Default 2.0 = 2R target.
SL Buffer (pts) Extra points added beyond the ORB boundary for the Stop Loss placement.
Volume Profile Settings
Feature Details
Show VP Toggle the entire Volume Profile on or off.
Price Bins Number of horizontal price levels (rows). Range: 10–60. Default: 30.
Profile Width (px) Maximum width of the widest bar in pixels. Default: 160px.
Value Area % Percentage of total volume inside the Value Area. Default: 70%.
Buy / Sell Colours Independent colour controls for buy-side and sell-side volume bars.
POC Colour Colour for the Point of Control strip and price line.
VAH / VAL Colours Colour for Value Area High and Low lines and labels.
VA Fill Toggle the blue background shading inside the Value Area.
Show Labels Toggle VAH / POC / VAL price labels on the chart.
Watchlist Pairs (Slots 1–10)
Each of the 10 watchlist slots has two inputs: Symbol (exact broker symbol, e.g. EURUSDc) and Label (display name on the button, e.g. EUR/USD). Leave Symbol blank to hide a slot completely.

QUICK START — FIRST TRADE IN 3 STEPS
1. Attach the indicator to your chart and set Session Start to your instrument's market open time.
2. Wait for Dashboard 1 to show "Range complete ✓" — the ORB box will be drawn on the chart.
3. When a breakout arrow appears, enter in the arrow direction. Use the auto-drawn SL and TP lines for your trade management.
PRO TIP For the highest probability setups, combine the ORB breakout signal with the Session Volume Profile — entries near the POC on a breakout, or retests at VAH/VAL, offer the strongest confluence.
