GREYHOUND - XAUUSD SCALPER
Automated gold trading. Defined exits. No grid. No martingale.
GREYHOUND is an automated XAUUSD scalper for MetaTrader 5. It places Buy Stop and Sell Stop pending orders with Stop Loss and Take Profit, then manages open positions with configurable trailing stops. The entry strategy is fixed internally; lot sizing, exits and protection controls remain adjustable.
START IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS
- Attach GREYHOUND to your broker's XAUUSD chart on M15, using a hedging account. Use the exact symbol name, including any suffix.
- Choose the lot-sizing mode and review the spread limit, exits and trading schedule. The fixed-lot starting setting is 0.01 lot.
- Test with your broker on demo before live use. Keep MT5 running with Algo Trading enabled and use a unique Magic Number for each independent instance.
MINIMUM DEPOSIT
Suggested minimum starting deposit: 100 USD with fixed 0.01 lot. This is a high-risk configuration, not a safe minimum or a capital-protection guarantee.
Broker leverage, gold contract size, minimum volume and margin requirements determine whether this configuration can be traded. Even at 0.01 lot, a small account can experience substantial percentage drawdown, margin stop-out or loss of its full balance. A larger account at the same lot size provides more capital headroom, but does not guarantee profitability. Do not increase the lot simply because the account is small.
WHAT GREYHOUND DOES
- Automates Buy Stop and Sell Stop entries with protective SL and TP.
- Uses one trade per direction, rather than one trade in total. Opposite pending orders are not automatically canceled when one side fills; buy and sell exposure can coexist.
- Manages positions with a configurable trailing activation, distance and step.
- Uses full-position exits, without partial-close take profit.
- Includes spread controls, pending-order cleanup and broker-server-time session protection.
- No grid averaging and no martingale lot escalation.
POSITION-SIZING PROFILES
- FIXED LOT: a selected position volume; default 0.01 lot.
- USD STOP-LOSS RISK: calculates volume from the requested entry-to-SL distance and a cash-risk setting.
- EQUITY STOP-LOSS RISK (%): calculates volume from equity and the requested entry-to-SL distance.
USD-risk and equity-risk settings are used only in their corresponding modes. Broker volume limits and rounding affect executable lots. Risk sizing is an estimate: gaps, slippage, commissions and swap can make the actual loss larger.
STOP LOSS, TAKE PROFIT AND TRAILING
- Stop Loss: strategy default 350 broker points.
- Take Profit: strategy default 1,500 broker points.
- Trailing activation: 180 points; distance: 30 points; extra step: 0.
- Maximum spread: default 80 broker points.
SL and TP inputs set to 0 use the strategy defaults; they do not disable the protective exits. Point distances depend on the broker's symbol point size. Stops and trailing updates remain subject to broker distance rules, liquidity and execution.
FAST EXECUTION AND VPS
Execution quality matters because GREYHOUND is a scalper. Use a reliable low-latency VPS close to the broker's server and a broker offering fast execution, tight gold spreads and low commissions.
Latency and slippage can materially affect pending fills and trailing updates. A fast VPS does not guarantee fills, profitability or replication of historical results.
TRADING HOURS AND OPTIONAL PROTECTION
Default daily close is 22:30, reopening is 01:15, and Friday close is 22:30. All times use broker server time. Daily session controls remain active when the optional protection master is OFF.
Optional daily profit, loss and equity controls monitor account-level values and act only on GREYHOUND's own positions and pending orders. They are triggers, not guaranteed loss ceilings or a complete prop-firm compliance system.
The optional news filter requires both the protection master and news switch ON. It uses the live MT5 economic calendar for high-impact relevant currency events, with a default pause of 30 minutes before and after. It blocks new entries and attempts to delete own pending orders; existing positions remain managed. Calendar failure pauses new entries. Historical testing with the live news filter enabled is not supported.
CLEAR INPUTS AND CHART PANEL
- Lot size: fixed lot, USD SL risk or equity SL risk.
- Exits: SL, TP and trailing activation, distance and step.
- Protection: optional financial limits and news controls.
- Execution and schedule: spread limit, pending cleanup, daily hours and Friday close.
- Expert settings and display: Magic Number, order comment and chart dashboard.
The dashboard displays balance, equity, EA trading results, floating exposure, lots, spread and execution status. Floating profit is not a guaranteed final post-cost result.
RISK DISCLOSURE
Leveraged gold trading carries substantial risk, including loss of the entire trading capital. A 100 USD account at 0.01 lot is high risk. Spread, commission, swap, leverage, gaps and execution can materially change results. No profit, recovery, maximum drawdown or prop-firm compliance is guaranteed. Historical backtests are not live performance and do not guarantee future results.
