BARTELS GOLD TRADER

NO GRID · NO MARTINGALE · NO AVERAGING DOWN · NO RECOVERY BASKETS

Bartels Gold Trader is a fully automated, multi-strategy XAUUSD Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5.

Built in Australia — a country with a long history of gold mining — and developed specifically for gold, BGT combines multiple independent trading engines with automated risk management and a simple philosophy:

Give profitable trades room to run and cut losing trades early.

LIVE TRADING — FOLLOW THE EA

Bartels Gold Trader is trading on a live account, with performance independently tracked through Myfxbook and MQL5.

I believe live trading should be visible, so you can follow the EA's actual performance rather than relying only on backtests.

MQL5 — Live Signal:

The live account is new, so the track record is currently short. I'm making it available from launch so buyers can watch that history build in real time.

DIFFERENT YEARS. DIFFERENT GOLD MARKETS.

Gold doesn't trade the same way every year.

Volatility changes. Trends change. Trading ranges change. Market conditions that suit a strategy one year may look very different the next.

That's why I don't believe an EA should be judged only by its best backtest period.

Using the same $1,000 starting balance, BGT was tested independently across three different gold markets using real ticks:

2024 — +70.6%

2025 — +143.5%

2026 YTD — +80.4%

Different years. Different gold markets. Consistent profitability.

These are separate tests starting from $1,000 — not one compounded result carried forward across the three periods.

Backtests are not guarantees of future performance, but testing different market periods helps show how a strategy has behaved as gold market conditions have changed.

LAUNCH PRICING

I'm using staged launch pricing for Bartels Gold Trader.

First 20 copies — $199

Next release price — $299

Standard price — $359

The introductory price is there to reward the first traders willing to get on board while BGT's public live trading history is still being established.

Once the first 20 copies are sold, the $199 launch price ends.

HOW BARTELS GOLD TRADER TRADES

BGT is not built around a single entry strategy.

It uses multiple independent trading engines, allowing it to identify different types of opportunities in XAUUSD rather than relying on one market condition.

The EA handles the entire process automatically:

  • Trade identification and entry

  • Position sizing

  • Stop-loss management

  • Profit management

  • Combined portfolio risk

  • Trade exits

BGT operates 24 hours a day, five days a week while the gold market is open.

NO RECOVERY TRADING

BGT does not add exposure to losing positions in an attempt to recover them.

There is:

No grid.

No martingale.

No averaging down.

No recovery basket.

Bartels Gold Trader isn't designed to win every trade.

It is designed to give profitable trades room to run and cut losing trades early.

That philosophy is at the centre of the EA.

THREE TRADING MODES

BGT includes three selectable trading modes:

CONSERVATIVE

Lower overall exposure for traders who prefer a more defensive approach.

STANDARD

The normal BGT configuration and the mode I use as the primary reference when testing the EA.

AGGRESSIVE

Higher exposure for traders who are comfortable accepting greater risk and drawdown in pursuit of higher returns.

Changing modes affects risk. It does not turn BGT into a different trading system.

ACCOUNT SIZE AND LEVERAGE

Account size and leverage are important when running Bartels Gold Trader.

BGT's trading signals do not change based on leverage. However, leverage determines how much margin is available when multiple trading opportunities occur at the same time.

Suggested minimum starting balances:

1:200 leverage or higher — USD $300 minimum

1:30 leverage — USD $1,000 minimum

The live BGT account currently starts with USD $300 at 1:200 leverage.

Traders using lower leverage, including the 1:30 leverage commonly available to Australian retail clients, should use a larger account balance. A $300 account at 1:30 may not have sufficient available margin to participate in all BGT trading opportunities.

A larger account balance may also provide additional margin headroom regardless of leverage.

Leverage does not make BGT's underlying strategy more or less aggressive. It affects the margin available to execute the trades generated by the EA.

As a result, two accounts running the same version of BGT can produce slightly different results depending on:

  • Account balance

  • Broker leverage

  • XAUUSD contract specifications

  • Spread and execution

  • Available margin

This is normal and should be considered when comparing your own results with the backtests and live account shown here.

BACKTESTING

The Strategy Tester results shown in the product images are included so you can examine the numbers yourself rather than relying on headline marketing claims.

Where possible, I test BGT using real tick data, across different market periods, account sizes and broker conditions.

The 2024, 2025 and 2026 YTD results shown above were deliberately tested as independent periods from the same $1,000 starting balance.

This makes it easier to see how the EA performed under different gold-market conditions without earlier profits magnifying later results through compounding.

Backtests are research tools, not guarantees of future performance.

That's also why I've made the live trading account available from launch.

BUILT SPECIFICALLY FOR XAUUSD

BGT was developed for gold (XAUUSD).

It is not a generic strategy copied across dozens of currency pairs.

The trading engines, risk controls and development work behind Bartels Gold Trader have been focused specifically on the behaviour of the gold market.

SIMPLE TO RUN

Once installed and configured, BGT manages the trading process automatically.

Select your trading mode, confirm your settings and allow the EA to operate.

BGT includes startup checks to help confirm that the EA is running in the correct environment, including the required XAUUSD M1 chart and a compatible hedging account.

For continuous operation, a VPS is recommended.

SUPPORT

I'm the developer of Bartels Gold Trader and I'm available through MQL5 if you have questions about installation, backtesting, broker settings or how the EA operates.

I'd rather you understand what you're buying and how it works before you buy it.

I'll also continue publishing live results and information as the trading history develops.
