Market Motion EA 5.2
Product Overview and Input Parameter Guide
Product overview
Market Motion EA 5.2 is an automated trading system designed to respond rapidly to significant market movements and execute trades according to predefined rules. Its operating window can be aligned with the US market open and selected high-impact USD events, allowing the system to focus on periods when market activity may increase. Dynamic position sizing, break-even protection, a trailing stop and a moving Take Profit function provide structured trade and risk management. Performance depends on the selected settings, instrument, broker and market conditions; the EA should therefore be evaluated in the Strategy Tester and on a demo account before live use.
News source configuration
Market Motion EA 5.2 is not a conventional news-trading system. It uses the Forex Factory data feed only to support the optional high-impact USD event timing parameter.
In MetaTrader 4, open Tools > Options > Expert Advisors, enable WebRequest for listed URLs, and add https://nfs.faireconomy.media. This permission is required only when the news-based start mode is enabled.
Default settings and optimisation
Recommended default settings and the essential broker-specific information are provided with the EA. The parameter descriptions below support further optimisation for the selected instrument, broker execution environment and individual risk tolerance.
Important: A point means the broker's minimum quoted price increment. On a five-decimal Forex symbol, 10 points normally equal 1 pip; the relationship may differ for gold, indices and broker-specific symbol specifications.
Position size and basic settings
Input parameter Function
Dynamic_lot_size When set to YES, the EA calculates the lot size from Risk_percent and Stop_Loss_points. When set to NO, it uses Fixed_lot_size.
Risk_percent The percentage of current account equity allocated as risk to one position when dynamic lot sizing is enabled. The default value is 2%.
Fixed_lot_size The fixed trade volume in lots. This value applies only when Dynamic_lot_size is set to NO.
Stop_Loss_points The initial Stop Loss distance from the entry price, expressed in broker points.
Take_Profit_points The initial Take Profit distance from the entry price, expressed in broker points.
Pending_order_distance_points The distance between the current market price and each pending entry order, expressed in broker points.
Maximum_slippage_points The maximum permitted execution deviation, expressed in broker points. During rapid price movements, the requested and executed prices may differ.
Magic_number The EA's unique order identifier. It distinguishes its trades from manual positions and trades opened by other EAs. Use a different Magic Number for separate instances when independent trade management is required.
Start modes
The three start modes operate independently. If more than one mode is set to YES, the EA may start when any enabled condition is met.
Input parameter Function
Continuous_mode When set to YES, the EA operates continuously without a time-based entry condition. If no EA market position or pending order exists, it prepares a new trading cycle.
Trade_at_US_open When set to YES, the EA uses the 09:30 New York stock-market open as a start condition. US daylight-saving time is handled automatically.
Trade_high_impact_USD_news When set to YES, the EA may start within the configured time window around high-impact USD events listed by Forex Factory. WebRequest access to the news source is required.
US market open
Input parameter Function
Seconds_before_open The number of seconds before the New York market open at which the start window becomes active. A value of 60 activates the window one minute before the open.
Limit_time_after_open When set to YES, the start window remains active only for the configured period after the market opens. When set to NO, the window remains available beyond that period.
Seconds_after_open The number of seconds for which the start window remains active after the market opens. This parameter applies only when Limit_time_after_open is set to YES. A value of 900 equals 15 minutes.
Start_only_once_per_day When set to YES, the EA uses the US-open start window only once per New York trading day. Restarting the EA or MetaTrader 4 during the day may reset this internal state.
High impact USD news and Forex Factory
Input parameter Function
Seconds_before_news The number of seconds before a high-impact USD event at which the news start window becomes active.
Seconds_after_news The number of seconds for which the news start window remains active after the event time.
News_refresh_seconds The interval, in seconds, between updates of the Forex Factory event list. A value of 300 equals five minutes. The EA enforces a minimum refresh interval of 30 seconds.
Start_once_per_news_window When set to YES, the EA can start only one trading cycle for the same event window. Restarting the EA or MetaTrader 4 may reset this internal event marker.
Disable_if_news_source_fails When set to YES, the EA will not use the news-based start mode if the news source is unavailable or invalid. Other enabled start modes remain unaffected.
Break even and trailing stop
Input parameter Function
Use_break_even Enables break-even Stop Loss management. After the configured profit threshold is reached, the EA moves the Stop Loss to the entry area, adjusted by the spread setting.
Break_even_trigger_points The unrealised profit, in points, required to activate break-even protection.
Break_even_spread_multiplier The multiple of the current spread added beyond the entry price when calculating the break-even Stop Loss. A value of 1.0 applies one current spread.
Use_trailing_stop Enables the trailing Stop Loss. The Stop Loss may move only in the direction that reduces risk or protects accumulated profit.
Trailing_trigger_points The unrealised profit, in points, required to activate the trailing Stop Loss.
Trailing_distance_points The target distance, in points, between the current market price and the trailing Stop Loss.
Trailing_step_points The minimum favourable price movement required before the Stop Loss is modified again. This reduces unnecessary order modifications.
Moving Take Profit
Input parameter Function
Use_moving_take_profit Enables the moving Take Profit function. During a favourable price movement, the EA may extend the Take Profit level away from the current price.
Moving_TP_trigger_points The unrealised profit, in points, required before the EA begins extending the Take Profit level.
TP_distance_from_current_price_points The target distance, in points, between the current market price and the adjusted Take Profit level.
TP_minimum_adjustment_points The minimum extension, in points, required before the Take Profit level is modified. This limits excessive order modifications.
Daily profit limit
Input parameter Function
Use_daily_profit_limit Enables the daily profit limit. When the limit is reached, the EA deletes its pending orders, closes its open market positions and prevents another trading cycle for the rest of that server day.
Daily_profit_limit The daily profit threshold in the account currency. The EA combines today's realised result with the current floating result for the active symbol and Magic Number.
Additional safety
Input parameter Function
Maximum_spread_points The maximum spread permitted when new orders are placed, expressed in broker points. If the current spread exceeds this value, the EA does not place new orders. A value of 0 disables the spread filter.
WebRequest_timeout_ms The maximum time, in milliseconds, that the EA waits for a response from the news source. A value of 5000 equals five seconds.
Display_status When set to YES, the EA displays its active mode, position and order status, current spread, daily EA result, daily limit status and news-source status on the chart.
