Honey Badger Corporation Honey Badger EA 1.1 is a closed-logic, multi-market MT5 Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold) and all major forex pairs. One chart can run a basket of up to 8 symbols with broker-aware execution, a mandatory Stop Loss on every position, layered drawdown protection and automatic scaling to the account size. OVERVIEW Honey Badger is not a single-pair robot. It is one trading engine that can handle gold and every major forex pair from a single chart. Symbols are supplied as a basket and the same expert can trade up to 8 instruments at once. The same file runs on a 100 USD account and on a 100 000 USD account — volume, margin and risk limits are computed by the expert itself. The core idea: gold and forex do not behave the same way, so the expert adapts to each symbol's own trading conditions — tick value, minimum lot, spread, session and volatility. A symbol that does not fit the account is not traded at all, and the reason is reported on the chart panel. TWO OPERATING MODES Gold mode (XAUUSD). Open a XAUUSD chart and leave the basket empty — the expert trades gold only. All Pairs mode. List the pairs in InpSymbols, separated by comma, semicolon, plus sign or space. The expert assigns a separate magic number to every symbol and manages the whole basket from that single chart. Symbol names are resolved against the full broker symbol list, so suffixes such as .m, .pro, .ecn, .raw, m, _i or # do not matter. ABOUT THE STRATEGY The strategy is closed-logic. The internal logic, signal aggregation, filter combinations, thresholds and calibration principles are not disclosed — this is a deliberate choice to protect the product. Closed logic does not mean a black box: what the expert does, which risks it takes and under which conditions it trades is stated openly below. Only the internal calculation details are not shared. KEY FEATURES - One chart, whole market. A basket of up to 8 symbols through InpSymbols, gold and forex together. - Account-aware scaling. Volume is derived from a risk percentage; a symbol whose minimum lot does not fit the account is disabled and the reason is shown on the panel. - Mandatory protection. Every position is protected by broker-side Stop Loss and Take Profit. If the broker refuses stops on the entry order, the expert opens the position and attaches the stops immediately afterwards; if that also fails, the position is closed again — nothing is left unprotected. - Partial close, breakeven and trailing. Part of the position can be closed early; the stop can move to breakeven and then trail price. A modification is sent only when the new level is genuinely better than the current one. - Market regime and trend filters. The expert does not open a new cycle in an unsuitable market environment. - Weekly window. A Friday close hour and a Monday start hour can be defined, which removes weekend exposure. - Correlation guard. A second entry that would duplicate an existing trade of the basket is not opened. - Broker awareness. The filling mode (FOK, IOC, BOC) is chosen from what the symbol advertises and retried when rejected. If the broker's total volume limit is hit, the order is reduced automatically. A position inside the freeze level is not touched — the expert waits. - Netting and hedging. Both account types are supported; on a netting account the expert never adds an entry to a symbol that already holds a position opened by another program. - Clean technical footprint. No DLL, no WebRequest, no file writes. Every trade result is checked. - On-chart panel. Balance, risk per entry, session state, open position count, equity drawdown, risk scale and the state of every symbol. - Drawdown-capped optimization criterion. OnTester does not let the optimizer buy profit with an unacceptable drawdown. RISK MANAGEMENT The risk model is fully transparent and configurable: - Risk percentage per position on balance, or a fixed lot. - A hard per-trade risk cap through InpMaxRiskPerTradePct. - A total open risk limit, the heat budget, through InpMaxHeatPct. - A margin usage limit through InpMaxMarginUsePct, plus a free margin check before every entry. - Small-account guard: a symbol whose minimum lot exceeds the account budget is not traded. - Risk is reduced automatically as equity drawdown grows, through InpUseDDScaling. - Daily loss limit: the whole basket is closed when the limit is reached, through InpUseDailyLossLimit. - A brake on new entries through InpNewFadeStopDDPct and a full flatten guard through InpMaxEquityDDPct. - Trading stops below InpMinBalance. No martingale, no lot multiplication, no grid, no averaging. Volume is never added to a losing position. RECOMMENDED SETTINGS Gold mode: chart XAUUSD, timeframe H1, basket empty (the chart symbol), risk 1 to 2 percent, suggested balance 500 to 1000 USD. All Pairs mode: chart EURUSD or any symbol, timeframe H1, basket EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, AUDUSD, USDCAD, NZDUSD, risk 1 to 2 percent split across the basket, suggested balance 1000 USD and above. Small account: any chart, timeframe H1, 1 to 2 symbols, risk 1 percent, suggested balance 100 to 500 USD. The expert does not trade below a 30 USD balance. These figures are recommendations, not guarantees. PARAMETERS — 11 GROUPS 1. Identity: magic number, basket, maximum simultaneous positions. 2. Signal: ATR timeframe, ATR period, level distance. 3. Exits: Take Profit and Stop Loss distances. 4. Position management: partial close, breakeven, trailing. 5. Regime and trend filter: market environment and trend filters. 6. Cycle and session: cycle pause, Friday and Monday window. 7. Risk and money management: risk percent, fixed lot, risk cap, heat, margin limit, correlation guard, minimum balance. 8. Protection: drawdown scaling, daily limit, new-entry brake, full flatten. 9. Execution: slippage, spread limits, stop attachment strategy. 10. Display: chart panel, close on remove. 11. Optimization criterion: drawdown-capped score for the tester. Default values are ready to use; no changes are required on first installation. INSTALLATION 1. Place the .ex5 file in the terminal MQL5/Experts/ folder; this happens automatically when the product is purchased on the Market. 2. Restart the terminal or press Refresh in the Navigator. 3. How much balance is needed? Trading stops below 30 USD. For comfortable operation 500 to 1000 USD is recommended, and 1000 USD and above for a full basket. The daily loss limit and the equity guard are configured to match the firm's rules; verifying those rules remains the user's responsibility. My broker uses symbol suffixes. Not an issue, because names are resolved against the full broker symbol list. How should results be verified? In the Strategy Tester with the real tick model and the broker's spread and commission conditions. A single test is not proof of profitability. Are updates paid?
