Maxgen Multi Strategy Grid is a grid expert advisor for
MetaTrader 4. It runs up to nine independent strategy slots on a
single chart. Each slot has its own magic number, so the
positions it opens are managed separately and never interfere
with the other slots.
The EA was developed and tested on XAUUSD. It also runs on major
currency pairs and on crypto CFDs such as BTCUSD.
HOW IT TRADES
The EA opens a position and, if price moves against it, adds
further positions at a fixed distance. Each additional position
in a basket is larger than the previous one by a factor of 1.2.
The basket is closed together at a common take profit. Buy and
sell baskets can be open at the same time.
ORDER LIMIT
Brokers cap how many orders an account may hold at one time, and
nine strategy slots can reach that cap. MaxTotalOrders sets a
limit the EA respects on its own, 20 by default. While that many
orders are open the EA opens nothing new on any slot, and it
resumes as soon as a basket closes. Quiet periods of this kind
are normal behaviour, not a fault. Raise MaxTotalOrders if your
broker allows more orders, or set it to 0 to use only the
broker's own limit.
BROKER-INDEPENDENT DISTANCES
Grid steps, take-profit levels and the spread limit are expressed
in a broker-independent unit. Two brokers that quote the same
symbol with a different number of digits - for example a 2-digit
and a 3-digit gold feed - produce the same spacing and the same
take-profit distance from one single set of inputs.
AUTOMATIC SYMBOL SCALING
The grid step adapts to the price level of the instrument, so the
same inputs give a sensible distance on gold, on BTCUSD and on a
currency pair without manual retuning.
AUTOMATIC LOT SIZING
With UseMM = true the lot size is derived from the account
balance: one 0.01 lot per BalancePer001Lot of balance. With the
default of 10000, a balance of 10,000 trades 0.01 lots, 20,000
trades 0.02, and 100,000 trades 0.10. Cent accounts are detected
and adjusted automatically. The result is floored to the broker
lot step and clamped to the broker minimum and maximum.
AUTOMATIC SESSION TIME ALIGNMENT
Brokers run their servers in different time zones. Set
RefServerGMT to the GMT offset of your reference broker and use
the same value on every terminal: the session hours then refer to
the same moment in real time on all of them.

WHAT THE SCREENSHOTS SHOW
The strategy tester report covers two weeks of XAUUSD M15 with
the every tick model at 81 percent modelling quality and a spread
of 182 points. The two account statements come from live accounts
that used different position sizing, which is why their results
and their drawdowns differ so much.
RISK WARNING
This EA builds a grid of positions and increases position size
while a basket is open. Systems of this type can produce long
sequences of baskets closed in profit followed by a single large
drawdown.
Drawdown in a grid system is highly path dependent, and the
published figures show how wide that range is. The two live
accounts reached relative drawdowns of about 4 percent and about
22 percent. Running the same two week tester period with a
different spread produced drawdowns ranging from under 9 percent
to over 70 percent of the account, with no other setting changed.
The published report is one of those runs, not a guaranteed
outcome.
Choose a position size such that a drawdown far larger than any
shown here would still be survivable. No backtest result and no
live result guarantees future performance. Test on a demo account
with your own broker first, and trade only with money you can
afford to lose.
