Structure Desk

An expert advisor for XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5. It works one basket at a time: it opens in a fixed set of server hours, adds to the position while price moves against it, and closes the whole basket together. There is no stop loss and no take profit on individual positions.

Read the Honest Limits section before you buy. It is not a formality, it is the part that decides whether this expert suits you.

How It Trades

  • One symbol, XAUUSD, one basket at a time, up to 10 orders in the same direction.
  • Entries are allowed only in fixed server hours, and only when price sits at the edge of its four-hour range. Entries are blocked between 14:00 and 22:00 server time.
  • While price moves against the basket, the expert adds orders at a fixed distance in dollars, with a pause of at least 60 seconds between them.
  • The basket is closed as a whole: by a target in account currency, by a price target that depends on the entry hour, or by a trailing giveback after the target is armed.
  • Order volume scales with the account balance. The added orders keep the same volume: there is no multiplier.

Protection Built In

Two limits are on in the shipped settings and both can be switched off.

  • BasketStopBalancePercent = 80 - close the basket when its floating loss reaches 80 percent of the account balance.
  • BasketMarginStopLevel = 100 - close the basket when the account margin level falls to 100 percent, which is the broker margin call line.
  • AddRespectsEntryHours = true - no averaging inside the hours where new entries are forbidden.

On every window used in testing - two continuous half-years, seven separate months kept out of tuning, and a thirteen-month pool, 22 windows in total - neither limit fired even once. In those tests they cost nothing, and in those tests they protected nothing either. Their purpose is a tail that the tests did not contain.

What The Tests Show

Strategy Tester, real ticks. Account of 2500 USD, run continuously, no resets between windows.

  • 2025.03.01 to 2025.10.31: net result +534.13 percent, maximum equity drawdown 31.77 percent, 908 trades.
  • 2025.11.01 to 2026.06.30: net result +974.38 percent, maximum equity drawdown 65.30 percent, 945 trades.

Both half-years are shown, not the better one only. The screenshots carry the report figures unedited, including the drawdown line.

A backtest measures the past. It says nothing about what happens next.

Requirements

  • MetaTrader 5, hedging account, XAUUSD.
  • Leverage 1:500 was used in all tests. Lower leverage changes the margin math.
  • Account of 2500 USD or more for the shipped settings. A smaller account changes the order size and therefore the behaviour of the basket.
  • A VPS or an always-on machine: the expert manages open baskets tick by tick.

Honest Limits

  • No stop loss on any position. Not a wide one, not a hidden one. None.
  • The equity drawdown in the tests reached 65 percent. The account passed through a state where two thirds of it was in floating loss and came back. Nothing in this expert makes that outcome certain.
  • Losses are not taken in small pieces. In the tested history every basket closed positive. That is not a merit: it means the loss, when it arrives, arrives at once.
  • The expert has no live track record yet. It has been running on a demo account for a few trading days only. Anything longer does not exist as of today.
  • It has been tuned on the same data more than once. Hundreds of parameter sets were tried on the calibration windows. Backtest numbers that survive that many trials are weaker evidence than they look.

If any of that is unacceptable to you, do not buy this expert. That is a legitimate answer.

A liquidity sweep is a bar that pushes past a prior swing high or swing low, where protective stop orders tend to rest, and then closes back on the inner side of that level. The same event is known under several names: a stop hunt, a stop run, a liquidity grab, a false breakout, a failed breakout, or a swing failure.
