Your limits, enforced — not just displayed. Free.

Most funded accounts are not lost to a bad strategy.

They are lost to one bad session. A bad hour, after a bad morning, when the daily limit was already half gone and nobody was counting.

This counts. It sits on your chart, watches the two limits that end most evaluations, and refuses to send an order that would break one.

In 30 seconds

  • It is free, and it is not a trial. No expiry, no account limit, no countdown, no pop-up asking you to upgrade.
  • It is not a strategy. No signals, no entries, no arrows. It never opens a trade by itself.
  • You click, it checks. Every order passes one gate that asks every rule you switched on. Refused orders are not sent, and the panel says which rule stopped you.
  • It sizes the trade for you. Type a stop and a risk percentage; read the lot size on the button before you press it.
  • It watches the whole account. Daily loss, drawdown, open risk and exposure — measured across everything, including trades another EA placed.
  • It survives restarts. A locked account stays locked. The day's baseline is not reset. Deposits and withdrawals do not distort your drawdown.
  • It blocks and locks — it never closes a position by itself. Read that section below before you install it.

It cannot guarantee profits, prevent losses, or guarantee compliance with any firm's rules. Those claims are absent on purpose.

Free, and still the real arithmetic

There is a kind of free tool that exists to be frustrating — the number is a little bit wrong, the feature stops after thirty days, a banner asks you to buy something every time you look at it.

This is not that.

What it watches, it watches with exactly the same arithmetic as the paid edition: the same broker-priced lot sizing, the same restart-proof day baseline, the same refusals, the same messages. Both editions are built from one engine.

A free tool that gives you a slightly wrong number is worse than no tool at all, because you would trust it. So nothing here is a reduced-accuracy version of anything. The paid edition is broader. It is not more correct.

The moment it matters

It is 14:20. Your firm allows a 4% daily loss and you are down 3.1%.

The pill at the top of the panel is amber, and the banner underneath names the limit and the figure. The headroom number — the largest thing on the panel — reads what is left, not what is gone.

You take one more trade. You size it at 1% and the panel prints the lot on the button.

It loses. You are at 4.1%.

Now you reach for the next trade, because that is what the afternoon does to people. Nothing is sent. The banner is red, the pill says BLOCKED, and the sentence names the daily limit as the reason.

The account is locked, and pressing UNLOCK will not help while the limit is still breached — a hard limit clears when the account is back inside the rule, not when a button is pressed.

Your open positions are still open. This edition does not close them for you. But it will not let you add to them, and that is the trade that would have ended the account.

How it works

No black box. Here is the entire operating loop.

1. It measures

Once a second it reads your equity, balance, open positions and pending orders, re-derives the day's realised profit and loss from your deal history, and evaluates every limit you switched on.

Figures come from your broker's own pricing engine rather than an assumed pip value — correct on gold, indices, JPY crosses and CFDs, not just majors.

2. You plan

Type a stop and a risk percentage. The panel shows the lot size, the money at risk, that risk as a percentage of the account, and the reward-to-risk ratio — all before anything is sent anywhere.

3. It decides

Press BUY or SELL and the request passes through one gate that asks every rule in turn. If any refuses, nothing is sent, and the panel names the rule and the reason in a full sentence.

The spread and quote are re-read at the moment of sending, not only when you were planning.

The panel has no path to the order function at all. Every order goes through the same check. There is no "just this once", because there is no second code path to put one in.

4. It reports

If a limit is reached it blocks and locks the account, raises an alert, and records exactly what it did and why.

What is included

Daily loss limit

Three calculation methods, in percent or account currency, with a warning threshold and optional inclusion of swaps, commission and fees.

The trading day starts at your firm's own reset hour and minute, in broker server time. Firms reset at 00:00 server, 00:00 GMT or 17:00 New York, and a limit measured from the wrong boundary is measured from the wrong balance.

The day's baseline is derived from your deal history rather than remembered, so a terminal restart, an EA re-attach, a VPS migration and a mid-day deposit or withdrawal all leave the figure exact.

Maximum drawdown

From one of four references, because firms differ: your account size, the highest balance the account has reached, the highest equity it has reached, or the day's starting balance.

Static and trailing rules give different answers on the same account, so this is a setting rather than an assumption. Percent or account currency, with a warning threshold and a live floor shown on the panel.

Position size calculator

Lot size from the risk you set, priced through your broker's own engine. Volume minimum, maximum, step and tick size are all respected, and sizes round down — rounding up would quietly exceed the risk you asked for.

When it cannot produce a size it refuses and tells you why, with the numbers. It never quietly trades the minimum lot instead.

One-click market orders

BUY and SELL, with full pre-send validation, a margin check against the state the order would leave behind, duplicate-order protection and honest partial-fill reporting.

Exposure limits

Maximum concurrent open trades, maximum total open risk as a percentage of equity or in account currency, and a maximum lot per order.

Risk is measured from your positions' actual stop levels. A position with no stop is reported as unbounded risk rather than counted as zero.

Spread and quote protection

A measured wide spread blocks the order. So does a quote that is missing, zero, inverted, unsynchronised or stale — each reported by name rather than as one vague refusal.

Emergency account lock

One button, two presses, to stop yourself trading for the day. Unlocking cannot clear a limit that is genuinely still breached.

Close all positions

On a bar reachable from every tab, because the moment you need it is not the moment to go looking for it. Two presses, and it cannot be undone.

The panel

Four tabs — MONITOR, TRADE, MANAGE, LOCKS — with a state pill that answers "can I trade right now" in one word, a notifications area that summarises nothing away, and a built-in guide reachable from the panel itself.

Draggable, collapsible, hideable to a small badge, dark or light. It runs headless for VPS use.

State that survives

The trading day anchor, the day's opening values, the equity peak and the lock are all persisted — and every money figure is re-derived from deal history rather than trusted from storage. A restart, an EA re-attach and an MQL5 VPS migration are non-events.

What it does NOT do

This edition blocks and locks. It never closes a position by itself.

When a limit is breached it refuses new orders, locks the account, turns the panel red and raises an alert. Whatever is already open stays open until you close it. CLOSE ALL is one confirmed press away on every tab.

If you need an account that gets itself flat while you are away from the screen, that is the paid edition, and you should read the next section before you install this one.

Also absent, deliberately and permanently:

  • Market orders only. No limit or stop entries.
  • No draggable chart lines. Stop and target are typed into the panel.
  • No selective closing. No close-winners, no close-losers, no partial close, no move-to-breakeven button. CLOSE ALL, or nothing.
  • No scheduled protection at all. No trading session filter, no weekend cutoff, no economic-calendar blackout, no consecutive-loss cooldown.
  • No automatic trade management. No breakeven, no trailing stop, no staged take profit.

This section is longer than a sales page needs. That is on purpose — the worst way to find out a tool does not close positions is at the moment you needed it to.

When to upgrade to PropFirm Guardian Pro

Lite protects you while you are at the screen. Pro protects you when you are not.

Upgrade if any of these is true of how you actually trade:

  • You leave positions open when you are not watching. Pro can flatten the account automatically when a limit is breached — a bounded, verified, retried close-all that fires once per breach and survives a restart mid-breach.
  • You trade around news. Pro blocks on the native MT5 economic calendar, with currency and impact filters and configurable minutes before and after.
  • You need session or weekend rules. London, New York, Asian or custom windows with daylight saving handled, plus a configurable weekend cutoff and reopen.
  • You want the trade managed after entry. Automatic breakeven, a trailing stop, and a staged take-profit ladder at R multiples.
  • You want discipline rules enforced. A consecutive-loss limit with a cooldown, a daily profit target that can stop you trading, a floating-loss cap, an equity floor, a margin-level floor.
  • You care where the risk is, not only how much. Per-symbol and per-direction exposure caps, gross-versus-net for hedged legs, pending orders counted toward exposure.
  • You run more than one EA on one account. Scope the panel to a magic number, a magic list or a symbol set.
  • You place pending orders, drag entry, stop and target lines on the chart, or want selective and partial closes from the panel.
  • You want a CSV journal of everything it did.

Pro carries 177 settings across 20 groups and 18 protection rules. Lite carries 48 settings across 9 groups and 8 rules. Both are built from one engine, so everything you learn here transfers directly.

Nothing in this product is a countdown or a nag. If Lite is enough for how you trade, use Lite.

Who this is for

  • Traders on a funded-account evaluation, or on a funded account, who place their own trades and need the firm's numbers enforced rather than remembered.
  • Manual and discretionary traders who want a sized, checked order behind one click.
  • Anyone who has ever done the daily-loss arithmetic in their head at exactly the wrong moment.

It is not for you if you want something that decides what to trade. This decides whether what you already chose is allowed.

Getting started

Attach it to any one chart. It watches and protects the whole account, so one chart is enough regardless of what you trade.

  1. Set your account size under "3. MAXIMUM DRAWDOWN", so drawdown is measured from the exact figure your firm uses rather than one detected from history.
  2. Set your firm's daily reset hour under "1. ACCOUNT AND TRADING DAY".

Those two settings do more than all the others together.

Then press ? on the panel for the built-in guide, or hover any control for a one-line explanation of what it does.

Limitations — please read

  • Prop-firm rules differ between firms and change over time. This software cannot guarantee compliance with any firm's rules. Always verify your firm's current trading rules before using it.
  • It cannot guarantee profits or prevent losses. It refuses orders and locks accounts; it does not predict markets.
  • It never closes a position by itself. A limit breached while you are away from the screen leaves a blocked, locked account with the positions still open.
  • Start-of-day equity cannot be reconstructed from history. On a cold start the panel falls back to the derived start-of-day balance and labels the figure ESTIMATED rather than quietly guessing.
  • After a withdrawal, set your account size by hand. The engine cannot know whether your firm reduces the account when you withdraw.
  • Give each chart its own magic number if you run more than one instance.
