Proton Strength Matrix MT5
OVERVIEW
Proton Strength Matrix MT5 is an indicator for MetaTrader 5 that analyzes and displays market strength metrics across multiple timeframes simultaneously. The indicator quantifies buying and selling pressure for the current symbol on selected timeframes and presents this information in a dashboard format on the chart.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The indicator analyzes price action patterns and generates strength values representing buying pressure (positive) and selling pressure (negative) for each monitored timeframe. Values are displayed as percentages ranging from 0-100% for each pressure type. This allows traders to assess market direction bias across timeframe hierarchy.
HOW STRENGTH IS CALCULATED
Analysis Method:
The indicator analyzes price movement patterns over recent candles. Analysis examines:
- Direction of recent price movement
- Volume and volatility of price movement
- Consistency of directional movement
- Acceleration or deceleration of movement
Calculation Output:
The calculation produces two values per timeframe:
- Buy Pressure: Percentage indicating strength of upward movement
- Sell Pressure: Percentage indicating strength of downward movement
These values represent relative strength only. A high buy pressure value does not guarantee price will continue moving up.
STRENGTH VALUES EXPLAINED
Value Range:
- 0-30% indicates weak pressure
- 30-60% indicates moderate pressure
- 60-100% indicates strong pressure
Color Coding:
- Green indicates buy pressure (upward movement strength)
- Red indicates sell pressure (downward movement strength)
- Values between 30-70% are considered balanced
Multi-Timeframe Analysis:
The indicator simultaneously displays strength for multiple timeframes. This allows assessment of trend alignment across timeframe hierarchy. Strong alignment across timeframes indicates higher conviction moves.

HOW TO USE
Reading Strength Values:
Each timeframe displays two values representing current market strength. When M5 shows 70% green and 30% red, this indicates M5 timeframe has strong upward pressure. When M15 shows 45% green and 55% red, this indicates M15 has slight downward pressure.
Timeframe Alignment:
If all monitored timeframes show green (upward pressure), this indicates alignment across timeframes. This alignment suggests higher probability for continued upward movement. Misalignment across timeframes indicates conflicting pressures and lower conviction.
Trend Confirmation:
Before initiating an upward directional trade, check if strength matrix shows green across multiple timeframes. Before initiating a downward directional trade, check if strength matrix shows red across multiple timeframes.
Strength Transitions:
Monitor strength matrix for transitions from green to red or red to green. These transitions may indicate trend changes. Transitions that occur across multiple timeframes simultaneously may indicate stronger trend shifts than transitions on single timeframes.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Calculation Basis:
- Calculations are based on price action analysis
- Calculations do not incorporate volume data
- Calculations do not incorporate external market data
- Calculations analyze recent candle patterns only
Limitations:
- Strength values are relative measurements, not absolute
- Historical strength readings do not guarantee future direction
- Strong strength reading does not guarantee profitable trades
- Weak strength reading does not guarantee losing trades
Market Conditions:
- Strength calculations may behave differently during high volatility
- Strength calculations may behave differently during market gaps
- During economic announcements, strength values may spike sharply
- Strength values may lag during thin liquidity conditions
Use in Trading Strategy:
This indicator is designed to confirm trade direction, not generate trade signals. Use in conjunction with your existing technical analysis methods. Do not trade based solely on strength matrix readings without additional confirmation from your trading strategy.
Testing Recommendations:
- Test on demo account to understand strength patterns
- Observe strength behavior during different market sessions
- Compare strength readings to your own technical analysis
- Document how strength correlates with price movement in your strategy
- Track accuracy of strength readings over extended period
