Total Dissatisfaction with Sentinel XAU – Unacceptable Risk Management I would like to express my complete dissatisfaction with the Sentinel XAU Expert Advisor. I purchased this EA expecting a professional trading system with proper risk management. Unfortunately, my experience has been exactly the opposite. My trading account has a balance of USD 20,000, and my acceptable risk was approximately USD 2,000 for every 0.01 lot traded. However, the EA exposed my account to an extremely dangerous level of risk. On June 18, 2026, Sentinel XAU started opening BUY positions while the gold market was clearly moving into a strong downtrend. Instead of recognizing the market conditions and limiting the risk, the EA continued adding new positions, increasing the exposure of the account without any effective protection. The BUY positions opened were: 18/06/2026 – 05:29 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4323.73 18/06/2026 – 08:49 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4303.54 18/06/2026 – 11:36 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4283.65 18/06/2026 – 12:01 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4263.18 18/06/2026 – 14:40 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4242.96 18/06/2026 – 19:23 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4222.92 18/06/2026 – 22:19 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4202.39 19/06/2026 – 05:09 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4180.04 19/06/2026 – 06:43 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4158.73 19/06/2026 – 07:41 – BUY 0.07 lots @ 4137.74 22/06/2026 – 17:17 – BUY 0.10 lots @ 4200.00 Instead of protecting the account, the EA continued increasing the position size while the market kept moving against the trades. The most concerning aspect is that Sentinel XAU comes with a default Global Stop Loss of 50%, which, on a USD 20,000 account, means accepting an automatic loss of approximately USD 10,000. I was forced to disable this Stop Loss, because I simply could not accept losing half of my account as a normal risk management strategy. I find it unacceptable that the default configuration of a commercial EA considers a 50% account loss to be an acceptable outcome. Even after disabling the Global Stop Loss, the floating loss continued to increase until it reached approximately USD 16,699.13, resulting in a drawdown exceeding 80% of the account. The largest individual floating loss reached approximately USD 2,166.43, while the basket Take Profit remained at 4223.15 even though the market price had fallen to approximately 4014, making any realistic recovery extremely unlikely. At that point, I had only two options. I could either accept an immediate loss of approximately USD 10,000 by allowing the EA's default 50% Stop Loss to close the basket, or I could open hedge positions to prevent the account from being completely destroyed. I was forced to choose the second option. Hedging was never part of my trading strategy; it became necessary solely because the EA failed to manage risk appropriately. In my opinion, Sentinel XAU does not have an effective risk management system. It simply continues adding positions against a strong trend, behaving like a classic Grid/Martingale strategy that can eventually destroy any trading account during prolonged directional market movements. A professional trading system should limit the maximum account exposure, restrict the number of additional entries, stop opening new trades once the drawdown reaches dangerous levels, and protect the trader's capital before the losses become catastrophic. Unfortunately, none of these protections were present in my case. I am still fighting to recover my account because of the losses created by this strategy. I would appreciate a detailed technical explanation addressing the following questions: Why did the EA continue opening new positions while the account risk kept increasing? Why is the default Global Stop Loss set to 50% of the account balance, exposing clients to such a massive loss? Why is there no effective mechanism to stop adding positions during a strong market trend? What improvements are planned to ensure that other users do not experience the same situation? I expected Sentinel XAU to be a professional trading system designed to protect its users' capital. Instead, I experienced a strategy that allowed a USD 20,000 account to reach more than 80% drawdown, forcing me to hedge the account just to avoid even greater losses. This has been an extremely disappointing experience, and I sincerely hope you will take this feedback seriously and improve the EA's risk management before other customers suffer similar losses.

This EA taught me just how dangerous Grid strategies can be. This EA has profit control, but no loss control. These are very basic EAs that give you headaches!

This grid gold EA is really reliable, profitable and safe. The DD was totally fine compared to others. Well done, Luca!

Already got Sentinel from Luca and just got Sentinel Gold 2 weeks ago, I always want to get at least 1-2 weeks to write review but Sentinel gold is very impressive, what I like the most is that it is a single trade EA and have TP and SL on every trade so you can really manage your risks, well done again Luca. On top of that Luca is always very responsive which is always an advantage. Keep developing good EA's

I waited for this EA to be released very passionately as I was allowed to test the pre-release version of it and it did very well. I really like the sentinel ea family and I own all of them. They are my true favorite ea's as I like the trading style a lot (clear setup, tp definition, great ui, grid duration less then a week). Grid trading might scar some people as it did to me in the beginning too, now I am relaxed as I "trust the process" Luca has invented without any doubt. I real set and forget product with high frequent profit trades. I highly recommend all of the sentinel ea's, especially this one. Keep on the great work Luca and I am looking forward for new sentinel eas ;)

I'm using the “low risk” setting,and I've been amazed because it's made a profit every day this week.
