How the EA works
Amnesia Portfolio runs through a structured operational pipeline. On each tick, the EA refreshes protection state, updates key dashboard values, and checks whether any critical limits have been breached. When a new bar forms, it performs a full analytics update, verifies that the chart is within the configured trading session, gathers strategy signals, applies all protection gates, and routes valid orders to the execution engine.
Before sending an order, the EA can evaluate spread conditions, open position count, total open lots, daily protection status, account protection status, and the state of the news filter. If any check blocks the entry, the trade is cancelled, and the reason can be reviewed in the terminal journal so that “no trade” situations are explainable instead of mysterious.
Main framework features
Amnesia Portfolio uses a three-tier protection architecture. Entry protections can prevent new positions when spread is above the limit, when the maximum number of positions has already been reached, or when the configured lot exposure cap has been hit. Daily protections can close positions and suspend new entries after a specified daily loss or daily drawdown is reached, and account protections can close positions and remove the EA from the chart after a critical equity event so you can review before restarting.
The execution engine is built to adapt to different broker infrastructures. Orders are pre-checked and the EA can automatically select the appropriate fill mode across IOC, FOK, RETURN, and BOC. A bounded retry loop handles temporary problems such as requotes, price changes, timeouts, and connectivity glitches, helping to stabilize order placement without requiring manual intervention.
The built-in news filter connects to the MetaTrader 5 economic calendar to pause new entries around selected medium- and high-impact events. When enabled, this can help keep the strategy out of scheduled volatility spikes that can affect EURUSD pricing.
Trade management
The EA manages positions through a structured signal model. Each signal encapsulates direction, whether it represents an entry or an exit, stop loss distance, take profit distance, trailing behavior, and whether an opposite signal should close and reverse an existing position.
