Aurum Sentinel — disciplined gold trading, filtered by a neural network.
Gold moves fast and punishes guesswork. Aurum Sentinel trades XAUUSD only when trend, momentum and session line up — and then lets an embedded neural network decide whether the setup is worth taking. Every position goes out with a stop loss and a take profit attached. No martingale. No grid. No averaging down. Ever.
MT5 backtest, 100% real ticks (XAUUSD M15, 2026.01.02 – 2026.10.14, $10,000 deposit, 1% risk per trade)

Part of this period (Jan–Jun 2026) was used to select parameters. This is a historical result, not a forecast.
How it trades
- H1 context, M15 detail. Decisions are taken only on a closed H1 candle; M15 data supplies additional context features for the filter.
- Trend breakout. A closed H1 candle must break the previous 12 H1 bars, with EMA50/EMA200 aligned, a directional EMA50 slope and ADX at least 20.
- Regime and session control. Trades only between 07:00 and 20:00 GMT; strong high-volatility trends are allowed only when they qualify.
- Neural filter. A compact neural network (8×4 MLP) trained offline on gold signals from 2025 and embedded in the EA as an ONNX model scores each candidate using 24 standardized market features. It does not "self-learn" in the terminal — its behaviour is fixed and reproducible.
- ATR-based exits. Stop loss 1.75 × H1 ATR, take profit 5.5 × ATR, both attached to the order.
- Breakeven and trailing. From 2.25 ATR in profit the stop moves to breakeven (+50 points) and an ATR trailing stop (2 ATR) takes over. Positions older than 48 H1 bars are closed.
- Partial close is built in (switched off in the tested Normal preset).
- Protection. Spread filter, news filter (30 min before/after), max 2 trades and max 2 consecutive losses per day, Friday stop for new trades and Friday close, one position per symbol, optional prop-firm daily-loss / total-drawdown guards.
- No martingale, no grid, no averaging. Stop loss on every trade.
Recommended settings
- Symbol: XAUUSD, chart M15.
- Use the default inputs (they match the tested Normal preset, 1% risk) or load Normal.set. Low.set = 0.5% risk.
- The backtest above used a $10,000 deposit. Smaller accounts are possible as long as your broker's minimum lot allows 1% risk with a 1.75 ATR stop; otherwise the EA's cash-risk cap limits the position.
- ECN/low-spread gold account recommended (max spread filter 35 points); set the GMT offset for your broker.
