Introducing the Grid Kraken.
Developed using years of experience in forex trading, Grid Kraken is a sophisticated grid system for the currency pairs AUDCAD and NZDCAD.
These pairs share a natural tendency for range-bound, mean-reverting price behavior — and that is exactly where a grid strategy has the highest chance of working long-term.
Within Grid Kraken, an impulse-detection algorithm analyses recent price momentum, and a directionality filter checks the broader market structure — so the grid only engages when conditions are actually favorable. And with flexible parameters, you can build and run multiple different setups.
The reward scales with the risk and the lot size auto-adjust to the balance. When a grid gets bigger there is also a much higher potential reward waiting when the grid is succesfully closed, and when the balance increases lot sizes follow. Features like this auto-adjustment increases easy of use and makes the Grid Kraken suitable even for beginners.
Grid Kraken also gives you ways to get out of a grid before it becomes dangerous — conditional take profits can close a position at a controlled loss once a certain grid level is hit or a drawdown has been running too long.
I know from expierience what has potential to work, and in backtests this strategy shows potential for longterm sustainability with a very stable growth curve and quick recovery from drawdowns, giving traders much better odds than other grid systems.
Backtesting:
Simply run the program on one of the recommendet pairs AUDCAD or NZDCAD. The timeframe used in the strategy tester settings does not matter. Use default settings for AUDCAD, or change the risk via the lot sizing options to your preference. For NZDCAD adjust the tp settings slighlty using the information providet in the screenshots below.
For backtesting, enter your broker's GMT offset — AutoGMT does not work in the strategy tester. Then select the DST simulation mode that matches your broker: EU DST, US DST, or EU broker base with US DST for the rollover filter. If your broker is based outside the EU and US and does not observe daylight saving time, simply use the fixed offset option and the offset you set will be used as-is throughout the entire test.
Settings like the extreme and aggressive presets are for users that look for fast returns - they generally give the system less room to breathe and therefore it is recommendet to trade them live only with appropriate levels of leverage and risk capital.
Developed using years of experience in forex trading, the Grid Kraken trades a sophisticated grid system on AUDCAD. This pair is very suitable for mean reversion, because of its high correlation and tendency to revert to the mean after strong impulsive moves.

Key Parameters:
- Allowed trade direction -> trade both directions, buy only, or sell only
- Allow hedging -> allow simultaneous buy and sell positions on the same pair
- Lot sizing method -> fixed lot size, deposit load %, dynamic balance/equity, or one of the ready-made presets
- Dynamic lot (0.01 lot per X money)-> the monetary amount per 0.01 lot when using dynamic sizing manually. So a value of 1500 means 0.01 lots per $1500 in the account.
- Max spread in points -> the EA skips entry if the current spread exceeds this value. Important to set correctly for your broker.
- Impulse mode -> Contra-Impulse enters against the recent price move (mean reversion). Pro-Impulse enters with it (trend following). Default is Contra-Impulse, which is the mode the EA was developed and tested on.
- Filter mode -> Exhaustion filter enters when a directional move looks exhausted. Mean-Reversion filter enters when price is stretched from its mean.
- Filter multiplier preset -> controls how the directionality filter scales its lookback across multiple timeframes: Micro, Standard, Macro, Global — from tight and fast to wide and slow. Standard is a good starting point.
- Maximum number of trades -> the maximum number of open trades per direction. Once this level is reached, the grid stops adding new positions.
- Trade distance -> distance between grid levels in points. This is one of the most important parameters — it determines how far price has to move before the next averaging trade is placed.
- Custom multipliers -> define your own lot multiplier sequence, e.g. "1,1,2,4,4,8,8". Each value corresponds to one grid level. Leave empty to use the generated series instead.
- Take profit mode -> fixed TP in points, or TP as a percentage of account balance, TP as % of price, TP as ATR multiple
- Conditional TP #1,#2,#3 -> activates a conditional TP in % of balance once the grid has reached this number of open trades. Can be set to a negative profit value — meaning the EA closes the grid at a controlled loss once the condition is met. Up to 3 conditional TP levels can be configured.
- GMT offset method -> how the EA determines the GMT offset for the rollover filter and news filter: manual, auto from server time, or auto from web service. For backtesting, use manual and set the offset to match your broker.
- Show panel -> shows or hides the information panel on the chart
- Trade comment -> the comment attached to all trades placed by the EA. Useful if you run multiple EA's on the same account and want to identify trades easily.
- Magic number -> the magic number used to identify trades placed by this EA. Change this if you run multiple instances on the same account.
