One of the trading styles and systems that has generated controversies over the years in forex is "THE MARTINGALE TRADING STYLE"
Is there a slight possibility that this system might work?
What do say? What do you think about this?
do the math.
as if, - if you go with the "classical" - to cover your loss of value 1, you need to stretch a couple other numbers in different directions - closer take profits, bigger lot-sizes or something else.
every time you lose, you lose twice what you already lost - thus the next trade, or gamble, or whatever - is accordingly twice as big.
started out with a lotsize 0.01, per 500$ deposit?
congratulations, here's a cookie - did you ever learned to count past 10 in grade school?
1 ; 2 ; 4 ; 8 ; 16 ; 32 ; 64 ; 128 ; 256 ; 512 ; 1024
martingale is a clever idea, but truly profitable in the hands of those, who know how to apply it.
it's not about "working" or "not working" - it's about math - whether you can withstand a losing streak of 10+, opening trades with lot sizes 512 times bigger than your original trade, and having an account of 4 zeroes, and more.

Really really helpful!
Thanks
I was beginning to think otherwise because most signals based on martingale end up blowing up our funds! They usually are profitable at the onset but we wake up suddenly and whew!!! losses upon losses.
Thanks Nauris
if you have strategy that don't have 13++ losing streak. You'll be fine. otherwise your account blown.

Martingale has the beautiful "growth" curve, where there seem to be no losses - the balance line just keeps going up.
checking out DD and equity most of the time blows the cover, if there is one - the growth of balance is equal to the DD of equity.
@ Yogie Pratama
that's not a question if your strategy can handle 13+ losing trades - it's a question WHEN it's gonna have to hold 13+ losing trades in a row.
alternatives - withdraw deposits regularly? sure, why not.
but in my honest opinion - the first trade you make, can turn out to be the last - just your luck, or whatever you believe in.
so, in the end of the day, if, as Yogie suggested - make a strategy that holds 13+ losing trades.. let's go with the bare minimum for a martingale strategy deposit requirement :
100$ per 0.01 lotsize.. so..
13 losing trades, 14th will be opened with a.. 4096x increase bigger than the initial trade.. 0.01 lot size for the first trade - 40.96 lot size for the 13th(14th) trade.
oh, yeah, - budget - 0.01LT per 100$, 40.96LT per.. 409'600$.
that's a hefty budget to have, just to make some profit, where the initial trade was with a lot size of 0.01, oh, and i forgot the most important part - the amount indicated here, is the one you've already lost, so, 409'600$ x 2 - just so you could open a trade with that kind of volume.. again.
