Hi can you please try for second time to make sure it doesn't work for you ?
I tried it for a second time, and I was slightly more observant. I noticed that the file from the new one was 61 KB, and the original file that’s not working was 59 KB. I switched them over as instructed. When I re-open the non-working MT5, the file switches back to 59 KB.

I’ve now had to install it on my VPS and turn on notifications from the local terminal, since the server ones aren’t working. That’s the only way I can get around this. I haven’t been able to do anything all week

That will not help.

What do you mean by "server ones aren’t working" ? The ones that are enabled by the "Notifications from the trade server"? If so, make sure to:

1. Connect with the trade account for which you want to receive server notifications

2. Add correct MQ ID to your terminal settings.

3. Disable and then enable "Notifications from the trade server".

If that does not help, contact your broker, since those notifications are sent from their side.

I'd look into this point:

Microsoft’s Windows security update rollup is badly buggy this month (October). ... Fix for a cryptography bypass bug is causing failures at several enterprises, requiring rollbacks or registry edits to resolve.

As a result - 3-rd party servers' admins' attention required, but probably is missing on many sites/services.

hi,

Does this mean you are using the option: notifications from the trade server ? My solution is used for local terminal, has not been tested for trade server because I don't use this option.

I also have no idea why you guys use the option notifications from the trade server ! From my side, I need MT5 desktop to be run so that my EA trades for me. No reason to turn it off because EA won't run if you turn MT5 off ! That's all !

Ive tried speaking to them, and they are beyond useless.

As simple as this, I dont run a EA for my day to day trading.

I open multiple trades, with multiple pairs, that have multiple TPs.
The notifications from trade server mean I dont need to leave my desktop on. My VPS runs 2 separate EAs with different broker.
Up until Monday this week. Everything worked fine.

Hi,

I am supposed you can try to remove or re-install MT5 desktop and use another mobile (to have a different MQID) then set them up from the beginning to see if it works !

I have no more solutions cause I don't use this trade server option :(

Hi,

I see some other users got issue with downloading Indicators or EA market and reported that the issue (error 500) was fixed by itself when they make all updates for their Windows.

You can try to update your windows OS !
