The MetaTrader 4 update will be released on Friday, February 21, 2025. This version provides important security improvements, error fixes, and platform stability enhancements.

The update will be available through the Live Update system.

 
Noticed if the History and Market Watch was set for only one symbol but the account was traded from multiple terminals with different symbols that those symbols would populate market watch automatically for no apparent reason. /portable
 

After years complaining the same issues to MetaQuotes, It does not solve the basics, creating very dangerous situation for their customers and production environment running many Metatrader 4 in many servers. Furthermore it creates a reworking for many traders and teams around the world.

After an automatic update to the version 1441, many EAs were simply detached from our charts, losing their configuration without warning and any reason on the log files. Many EAs must be recompiled in order to be attached again. It is a very big irresponsibility since the company knows that their customer may have open positions and a recompilation sometimes is not possible due to third parties EAs. It promotes for huge losses and cut of the logic activating PANIC mode around the world.

We have to attach the EAs manually again, set it up again losing many valuable hours and days.

The MetaQuotes company does not inform their customer per E-Mail or Push notification that a new version will be available, although they have our e-mails in their database and have a push notification already working in their platform.

I do not expect more RESPONSABILITY, creativity or innovation from this company. Is only frustration after frustration.

No any problem for me at all. 
EAs were running (attached to the chart): MQL5 Market EAs (commercial), free EAs from CodeBase and free EAs from this forum (incl EAs from former tsd forum such as TickScalper EA, Brainwashing EA and more).

No any EAs were detached from the charts, no any configuration/settings were lost, and EAs did not need to be recompiled.

No recompilation is needed for builds 1436-1441, of course. If recompilation was needed, it raises some doubts about the nature of these EAs.

Dopo anni di segnalazioni degli stessi problemi a MetaQuotes , non si è riusciti a risolvere le questioni fondamentali, creando situazioni molto pericolose per i clienti e per l'ambiente di produzione, dovendo gestire numerose Metatrader 4 su diversi server. Molti EA devono essere ricompilati per poter essere ricollegati. Si tratta di una grave irresponsabilità, poiché l'azienda sa che i propri clienti potrebbero avere posizioni aperte e che a volte la ricompilazione non è possibile a causa di EA di terze parti. Questo favorisce ingenti perdite e l'interruzione della logica, attivando la modalità PANIC in tutto il mondo.

Dobbiamo ricollegare manualmente gli EA e configurarli di nuovo, perdendo molte ore e giorni preziosi.

La  società MetaQuotes  non informa i propri clienti tramite e-mail o notifica push che sarà disponibile una nuova versione, nonostante abbiano i nostri indirizzi e-mail nel loro database e una notifica push già attiva sulla loro piattaforma.

Non mi aspetto più RESPONSABILITÀ, creatività o innovazione da questa azienda. È solo una frustrazione dopo l'altra .

The same thing happened to me after a Windows update.
MetaTrader 4 created a new terminal folder, and now the Expert Advisors I purchased from the Market won’t load anymore. I get errors like:

cannot load '...\Experts\Market\[EA name].ex4'

Even though the file is in the correct folder, it’s not recognized, and I can’t use the EA unless I reinstall it—which would cost me another activation.
It’s really frustrating, especially when the change comes just from a system update I didn’t even initiate manually.

      The activation may be lost because of major Windows updates, or hardware changes or  different authorization methods on Windows.
      If it is happened so you can delete your purchase from Metatrader and install it once again from same Metatrader (and one activation will be used).

      The activations can not be restored.
