Usually they first rape indicators, then switch to mathematics and statistics, abuse cointegration, abuse combinatorics, stretch the market on different models, cross-validation, worship over-optimization and forwards, and add money management. They especially pray and rely on MM. And they are sure to be fully enveloped in classes, structures, libraries and other OOP. But this doesn't bring them closer to the grail. They go in endless programming for the sake of programming for many years.
In my defense, I can say that I try not to get too enveloped in classes, although I do pull models and pray to MM.
