Former world boxing champion Kostya Tszyu defended his thesis project at the Ural Federal University (UrFU) with excellent marks, the university's press service reports.

Feature of realization of the regional target program "Development of physical training and sports in Sverdlovsk region for 2011-2015" in which the student analyzed a technique of calculation of subsidies became a subject of his work.

Leonid Rapoport, Minister of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the region, who is also head of department of management in physical culture and sports at Ural Federal University, was the future sports manager's academic adviser.

"What will change in my life after my defence, I cannot yet determine. I have become a graduate, and more importantly, I have gained more knowledge that will be useful in my work. Many of the things I learned while preparing my diploma, I want to put into practice," Tszyu said in the report.

The famous boxer entered Ural Federal University, Department of Physical Education, Social Services and Tourism in 2006. In April of this year he passed the state exam with "excellent". He plans to defend his master's thesis and then his doctoral thesis.
