Dude probably drank something before he drank the coke and ate the Mentos. Neutralisation of the carbon dioxide by the alkaline environment in his mouth is unlikely due to the rapid flow of coke into his stomach (he drank fast and heavily). Probably drank soda diluted in water before the experiment.
