Yeah, the animations are a mess when they're played from who knows where.

The pictures are static... The pictures are not explained in a good way without unnecessary duplication.

Let me recommend a tool like WINK. This is a free software for creating interactive training videos.

I often use it for tech support, to explain the functionality, installation process and so on. The files are small (depending on recording mode, duration, picture resolution).

 
You should number the frames so it's clear where to watch the cartoon from)
 
I tried to avoid animation altogether. I didn't manage to translate everything into simple pictures.
