MQL5 VPS - page 4

Hi there, I have a question about the interaction between the Terminal and Virtual machines once migrated.

I use the MT5 Trade Assistant for break-even settings and sometimes scheduled close of trades before news. Couple of questions:

1. Once I have successfully migrated my environment with the EA attached to the chart, do I need to allow Algo Trading in my Terminal again? (gets switched off during migration).
2. Do I need to synchronise to the VPS if I have an open trade being managed by the EA and I need to close my computer/Terminal, or are my actions duplicated in the Virtual server based on what I am doing in the Terminal.

Thanks in advance.

Whatever your trade management EA can do on its own in your local MT5 terminal with the Algo Trading button clicked, it will do if you migrate it to your MQL5 VPS.

1. No, you don't click the Algo Trading button again, after migrating to MQL5 VPS.

2. If you haven't migrated your tade management settings for this trade to MQL5 VPS yet, yes you will need to do so before you can close your local MT5 terminal and computer.

Thank you for such a prompt and clear response.

If I could run a couple of scenarios past you for extra comfort that would be greatly appreciated.

Scenario 1:

1. I sync my trading environment to the VPS
2. I manually enter a trade on DAX using the trade assistant to size my position and execute the trade (on my Terminal without the Algo Trading checked)
3. I size my position depending on my account balance so this will vary from time to time
4. I set a break even level of 2R on the trade assistant for all trades and this setting WAS migrated at the time of initial sync

Question: If I do not sync my environment again after entering that manual trade, will the assistant on the VPS still manage the trade and set to BE if my position gets to 2R profit?

Scenario 2:

1. I sync my trading environment to the VPS
2. I manually enter a trade on DAX using the trade assistant to size my position and execute the trade (on my Terminal without the Algo Trading checked)
3. I set an auto close based on time on my trade assistant to exit the position due to red folder news at a specific time

Question: If I do not sync my environment again after setting the close on time function, will the VPS be aware of the setting and close the trade?

Again, thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Scott

The MQL5 VPS is for autotrading and for signal subscription. because this MQL5 VPS is your Metatrader in cloud which works independently from your home Metatrader for example.

I mean: this MQL5 VPS is not for manual trading; it is for the following: you have sent your home Metatrader's environment to Metatrader in cloud (to MQL5 VPS) and forget about ... because this MQL5 VPS is doing everything related to autotrading or receiving the signals under signal subscription.

dll is prohibited on MQL5 VPS (it means: if your EA is calling any dll incl Windows dll so your EA will not work because of that).

----------------------

If you want to trade manually or semi-manually y using some tool so - no idea ... it is better to ask the author/seller of this tool about compatibility of it with MQL5 VPS.

For both scenarios I don't think you can place trades with your trade management EA without having the Algo Trading button clicked.

For the first scenario, if your trade management utility can manage all account trades, even those that are opened after it is migrated to your MQL5 VPS, yes it will manage it.

For the second scenario you are talking about an option that hasn't been migrated to your MQL5 VPS, so probably it will not be executed through MQL5 VPS.
