Indicator to calculate total candle that already formed

hello is there any indicator that calculate total candle that already formed ?, the purpose of this indicator is to make sure we got info that no candle is lost because of connection issue or metatrader server issue , example on 1 day there are 24 candle on 1 hour , 48 candle on 30 minutes etc . Because all indicator are based on price it is crucial that lost candle are noticed especially on lower time frame such as 1 minutes or 5 minutes

thanks please reply

On a lower time frames (like 1 minute) a gap in bars (missing bar) can happen simply because there was no new quote (tick) for that bar at all (in Asian session especially) so it is rather an usual state than an exception (it depends on a broker how do they handle such cases - do they insert an "artficial" tick just to make sure that a new bar is formed or not) . When there is no connection to broker, as soon as the connection is reestablished, the missing bars that were formed by the broker in the mean time, will be downloaded

yes due to a gap happen time to time . The problem is sometimes even when the connection is reestablished the data is not downloaded leaving the candle jump example on 1.05 time jump to 1.15 time there are 10 missing candle . With this indicator it tells us that candle are missing so we can fix it by getting data feed from other broker

asking,

So far I did not see a situation that after connection reestablishing the data was not downloaded (since the effect of connection losing and reestablishing is the same as turning the terminal of and then again on). If it happens with your broker (that after connection reestablishing the missing bars are not downloaded) maybe it is a time that you consider a broker change

Let me guess : you downloaded data in the history center?

If yes, things like that happen when you download data from the history center and when the data is recalculated (combined with the already existing data). It is one of the "things" metatrader does and it is not a result of disconnection. Delete the appropriate .hst file (symbol+minutes.hst) and that gap will be filled in

im not playing with history center , but i delete the .hst file and it's actually working the gap filled thanks

still looking for this apparently if history is missing by 1 candle or 2 its hard to notice especially on lower timeframe

Bars are not going to be missing because of no connection - as soon as the connection is re-established the newly formed missing bars are going to be downloaded (it is the same situation as when you turn your terminal off and then on) As of the rest of the missing bars : I told already in one post - it can simply mean that there was no new quotes for some bar at all and that is why on some brokers you can get a missing bar (the others are inserting an "artificial" tick in order to keep bars forming) It all depends on a broker

All in all, 1 or 2 missing bar will have minimal or no impact at all on overall analysis

yes this indicator just to tell us that there are candle missing .I have encounter it even deleting history not fixing it , so to fix it we can look the data from other broker . Actually well 1 or 2 maybe not have an impact on analysis but what about 10 or 15 candle on 1 minute . 1 day has 1440 candle on 1 minute and its a lot to check it minute by minute

How can you know that the bar was missing or that the bar was never formed at the first place (when no tick was generated for some period at all). Also, data from different brokers are very, very rarely same. There is no such thing as uniform price or uniform signal at the same time in forex and comparing the data from other broker would not mean that either of the brokers have a "correct" data. Difference would occur simply because they are different brokers.
