This gives you 96 time frames including tick.
You can chart on the bid, the ask or both and there are a host of other options.
Since someone threatened to make something similar to this and sell it as a commercial product. Here is a free one that I made.
You must have stderror.mqh, WinUser32.mqh and stdlib.mqh in your include directory. These should be there anyway.
Enable experts on your menu bar and read the documentation.
Put on a chart then it will tell you which offline chart to open.
There is almost no code snippets from LastViking's Renko ea now but it gave me a start so many kudos to him. Let me know of any bugs. You have to keep the chart with the ea on it open. As with all ea if you switch to another profile they halt.
Version number shown on screen.
This is version 2.0
If you cannot get it to work then post a message outlining any messages in the experts tab and which broker you are using and I WILL fix It for you.
Screen Shot 5 sec chart
Here is a 5 second chart. There are 96 possible time frames. MT4 doesn't like tick charts, 00:00:00. It creates history errors. However you can ignore them.
it doesn't talk to me...did everything as you said...nothing happened...
Don't you hate that! Okay I was missing something see first post.
Since I have no idea what the reserved or excluded names are for MT4 hst files. It is trial by ordeal. I am not going to test all 90 odd timeframes. So if you have the message to open a file that does not exist then just let me know and I will fix it.
and Now for Some More .....
In a another forum, far, far away there is a post about central banks and big players and market moving quickly. So I made this.
It is an ea and it goes on ANY chart. JUST ONE!! A weekly will do fine.
Set the chart as a line and the colour as none.
ExtremeBar to /experts
IO_Utils to /experts/libraries
There are 3 lists you have to set.
Time Frame eg 5 seconds
Range in PIPS eg 10
so if the first value list 1 was AUDUSD
& the first value list 2 was 20
& the first value list 3 was 12
Then you are looking for 12 pips over 20 seconds or more to signal
LoadParams will load your last settings from a file
It stores the last breach data to disc and reloads on startup. You can set whetever for whatever symbol.
I have added some upgrades.
This is version 1.3
The version number is diplayed on the screen.
It forces screen update and also displays an arrow indicating direction. I set the GBPUSD to 4 pips over 30 seconds just to generate an extreme bar on the screenshot. You can set those colours too. It also saves and loads the parameters to disc. So if you only want the eur and the gbp then edit the params when you load up and set loadParams to false. The next time you run it it will start with the params that you had before rather than the default.
a 12 second candle chart
Thats very interesting and nice concept
I am not going to waffle on about my great trading techniques. However put a 2 second, 1 min, 5, 15, 1 hour, perhaps a 4 and a daily. Now if you can't catch some nice tight entries then you need to practice some more. I will add the range bars later this week. But that is the end of the free bar types I am afraid.
from the sublime to the ...
2 pip range bar but unlike the "thing" that the person who charges 70 Euros or whatever, this one has gaps like it is supposed to. The significant value is the open by the way. Trust me on that one.
This will be coming up in the future if this thread generates any interest.
Painless, thanks for the great contrubution. Are there any more bar types which are not free(except point and figure)?
