I ve been trading for sometimes with RSI.
Recently I came to know that there is another version of RSI that is based on Directional Movement and produced a very good results.
Attached is an article based on research by a University in Malaysia

I really hope you can help to create an indicator based on that article.

This would be the drsi (directional RSI) as described in the document that you attached. Lower picture is the comparison of drsi (upper) and regular rsi (lower). As it is obvious, they tend to be quite different in values in a lot of occasions when shorter calculation periods are usedTo the code master.

Yes, it is (as far as results are concerned, as far as calculation is concerned it is different after the initial difference calculation step)
But please read the document attached by orinin : it was done as the document describes and it in fact is RSI ...

Yes both indis look alike. Other than the calculations are different, look carefully how the both indis response to the market. In terms of application, the bullish and bearish assumption will be taken at level 50 for DRSI while deM is at level 30 and 70. Anyway I m still testing the indi. Hopefully will pick more green pips
