Great EA in backtest! - page 25

mamba22:
Which version should we forwardtest now: v1.85 or v1.88? I had attached this morning the last version v1.88 on 5m timeframe but didn't open any trade till now.

You need to wait for the new release which is in testing right now. Attached is my trading log with the developmental version 1.91 (with PIPTimer on) which I am testing right now. As you can see in a matter of minutes..CT 1.91 is able to make good profit. I will forward test it some more and debug it and should post it shortly with the new presets. A big thank you to Fikko, Igorad and emka207 for writing the PIPTimer code. I have used a combo of the 3 versions which made the PIPTimer so much more efficient. Thumbs up to all 3 of you!

Look at the actual GMT time displayed in the left upper corner. If you set your GMT difference correctly then you will get the right "hadj" correct. For example if you have 09 setting then at GMT 09-10 trading will be disabled. I am not familiar with Northfinance, sorry. But I have tested the "TimeTradeHoursDisabled" function and it works perfect for CFG (setting+1) and IBFX (setting-1). The URL for CFG is: www.CFGTrader.com BTW GMT difference to USA EST is -5 currently not -4

May be I am missing something, but it seems to me that IBFX has GMT time, and current difference between GMT and EST is actually -4. However, current London time is not GMT time but GMT+1 (daylight saving time). Please take a look at these sites:

My partial results for today. The EURUSD trades should have been 1.5 lots, not 1.0. I forgot to change the settings.

I see from the statement small wins and large losses. This only means that your Stoploss is too wide giving up a lot on the losing trades. Are you using the latest version with the dynamic TS? This should shrink the StopLoss range a lot as the trade moves on.

I'm using version 1.85 with your presets. The only thing I changed was the risk and lot sizes. I upped risk to .5. The dynamic TS was enabled. This was on the 5 min, BTW.

-I'm testing v 1.85

-All USD pairs

-1 Hr Timeframe.

-Presets as per europe/jap differences.

-GMT settings as per my broker.

-Diff magic numbers per pair.

No losing trades so far but my main point is this is early days. We need to go through the motions. No point posting statements with a few trades.

I want to post this so I can put to rest everybody's concerns regarding using this EA. I will post in bold letters so there is no misunderstanding: THE BROKER WANTS YOU AS THE TRADER TO PLACE AS MANY TRADES PER DAY AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS HOW THEY MAKE MONEY. THE MORE, THE BETTER. FREQUENCY OF TRADES IS NOT A PROBLEM AS LONG AS YOU ACCEPT THE SPREAD AND THE ORDERS ARE GOING THROUGH. THIS IS NOT A TRUE SCALPER -- IT SENSES A CONDITION, ENTERS AND ATTEMPTS TO TAKE A PROFIT. IT DOES NOT PROFIT FROM TAKING POSITIONS ON 2 PAIRS TRYING TO MAKE SPREADS ALL DAY LONG..THIS IS WHAT THEY DON'T WANT. SO PLEASE STOP BEING CONCERNED ABOUT THE BROKERS AND FOCUS ON FORWARD TRADING. I TRADE THIS LIVE FOR MINIS AND THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE WITH ANY BROKERS USING THIS EA.

untill now i still can not find any proof that brokers aint betting against the customers. they have thousands of excuses to tell you that they are genuine and scalper isnt right because they have no time to transfer your order to the so called "market". maybe my knowledge is limit, but i believe that most of the brokers are just like casino, and the customers are gamblers. small profits are ok for them, but if you are consistant and a big players, they will change auto pricing into manual pricing to tear you down. one of my chinese forum trader who been very good in trading was black listed by most of the brokers, and he even need to use his wife name and his friends name to open account with the brokers. anyway, i still believe in forex, and will keep going on with it. good luck and good trades guys.

Man, I'm not hassling your post......I'm on your side.

But, in the end, I always think the market's just too big for anyone ( let alone your broker ) to dupe you if you play your own game right.

The right way to use this EA in my opinion isn't scalping anyway. It's short-term trading.

If you don't like a broker just flick them...use a few. It's your freedom of choice because it's your cash.
