WINE stands for"Wine Is Not Emulator".
Wine is a translation layer (a programme launcher) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX-compatible operating systems. Windows programmes running in Wine act as if they were native, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a look and feel similar to other applications on your computer.https://www.winehq.org/about
... I think it's best to use it on Windows until there's a Linux version.
I agree with you too. I'm just waiting for Metaquotes to create a native version for Linux so I can migrate to it once and for all.
MetaTrader 5 running fine on OpenSUSE leap 15.2 using wine 5.0.
Meta quotes should come up with meta trader 4 and 5 which can work in Linux with no wine application or no need for a virtual machine. If the software that saw in windows they have the same software in Linux this means that meta quotes should come up with meta trader 4 and 5 for client who use Linux as their operating system. Time has now passed for people to use wine that have never been stable. Also I would rather use a virtual machine than use wine in my Linux OS. This virtual machine might also come at a price also if you dont have good specs to run the virtual machine. So I would like meta quotes to develop a platform similar to those of windows (meta trader 4 and 5) if other software are able to develop a software for both linux and windows you are no different you can still develop it
Maybe this could be implemented
I hope not.
I don't like snap at all. There is a way to pack windows apps on linux. Maybe this could be implemented https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/call-for-testing-snap-windows-apps-with-sommelier-core/18728
How about flatpak?
Wine is an emulator. It's just another layer of software to cause problems... I've had several experiences with Wine, and I think it's better to use it on Windows anyway, until there's a Linux version.
But Windows can be so bad that even with Wine, MT5 is still better on Linux.

I've used it for a long time on Wine, and there were some features that didn't work properly, such as scrolling the Strategy Tester timeframe bar and not being able to select the colours of the indicators when they were plotted on the chart. For me, using it through Wine is a workaround that would be solved with native MT5 for Linux, in .deb and dot rpm packages for example.
Hello everyone,
Do you have any idea how I can fix the proxy problem?
I have ubuntu18.043.5 LTS 64bit
I tried it on different distributions of Linux in WINE, but I couldn't overcome it: the content of news from the "News" tab is not displayed (in Windows everything is OK).
According to all observations (after default installation in wine in linux):
no display of any news in Russian
no display of news in English, which are offered to save in mht format
news in English that are offered to save in html format display text, but do not display attached images (charts, etc.).
What do I need to do to use the full functionality of the news tab? I can't get off vindex without it. Does this functionality work on Macs?
