IvanDorofeev:

Hey, everybody.

Could you please advise me on the problem:

I can't install MT5 on Elementary Hera.
When installing it asks for a proxy server and login with password, when I enter it, I immediately get an error.
Who had such problems?

This is a problem with vyne, change the operating system. But with vyne better not to contact at all, there are small bugs yes remain, and the most important thing that when there is a bug, you immediately sin on vyne, and the problem may not be in it. The right way is only a virtual machine with vinda, I myself was tormented with vyne for several years, eventually abandoned this case, there are constantly observed small bugs there, such as retarded installation of stops, for example, or does not work transfer stop.

a well or another version of vyne can help, but better virtual machines, this is my personal experience. A good virtual machine, for example Virtual Machine Manager

I read a bit and remembered a conversation with my neighbour. He still makes me laugh when I remember .
- У тебя какая винда?
- Ни какой.
- У тебя что компьютера нет?
- Есть.
- Так винда у тебя какая?
- Ни какой.
- А как утебя компьютер работает?
- У меня Linux.

Our people are too inert. Everyone jumps out the window, and he's the same way. But to try something new. It takes a little bit of brainpower. Although as such now, not counting toys, there are almost all alternatives to software. I have been working quite comfortably for more than 10 years.

Awesome post , I found a great solution for trading with python and metatrader

Update fall 2020

There's a font needed that is not installed with the winetricks core font pack.

It's called marlett.ttf

maybe it's installed automatically on wine with Ubuntu, but not with fedora.

It's the letter "x" used to close windows.

The market works as it should.

Colors for all built in indicators can be changed.

But the color palette under the tab color on some custom indicators, does not work.

I'm using Fedora 32, Wine 5.16 (64bit)

Finally we've got an opportunity to try the new trade terminal - MetaTrader 5 . No doubt, it is noteworthy and has many new features as compared to its predecessor. The important advantages of this platform among others are: Essentially modified language allowing now to use the object-oriented programming, still allowing to use the rich...

I tried it, but it crashes MetaTrader5 when running through Wine. Maybe it works in Windows. In Linux (Ubuntu 20.04.1), no luck.

Can someone recommend a windows emulator that could work on an ARM processor? As far as I know, Wine cannot be run at all on ARM architecture whereas on x86 processors, it can.

For the information, I wanted to run it on LXDE distribution of Linux. It is not much of a huge Linux distribution but it is for embedded systems and Lubuntu is not accepted and neither is Windows IoT.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards

Wine is not an emulator.

The last Lubuntu with LXDE is 18.04.05 or Bionic Beaver.

Arm processors are not supported and i do not think that they will ever be.

In such case its best to just switch hardware to a compatible architecture.

I have ARCH linux, everything works, and robots and market, NOT linux is to blame, and who builds it, and vine has nothing to do with it, you also need to build. for those who vine asks for a proxy server, you need to install, sudo pacman -S lib32-gnutls, it is in archlinux.

Wine is an emulator. It's just another layer of software to cause problems... I've had several experiences with Wine and I think it's best to use it on Windows until there's a Linux version.
