Troubleshooting, FAQ, Risk Reminder and Support
1. Introduction to Pipbit HBS Gold
Pipbit HBS Gold, based on Hybrid Basket System V3.41, is a structured and configurable Expert Advisor designed for trading Gold / XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5.
The system combines predefined trading logic with basket management, recovery controls, safety mechanisms and user-adjustable operating settings.
Users can change available inputs, test different configurations, and save their settings for later use.
HBS provides the trading structure. The trader determines the operating profile through the available controls.
What HBS Is Not
HBS is not a copy-trading service, managed investment account, investment advisory service, guaranteed-profit system, fixed-return product or no-loss trading strategy.

2. Important Risk Disclaimer
Pipbit HBS Gold is an automated trading tool. It does not guarantee profit, fixed returns, recovery of every basket, absence of drawdown, protection from margin calls, or account safety.
Gold trading and leveraged financial products involve significant risks.
Potential risks include:
-
Floating and realized losses
-
Basket expansion during unfavorable price movements
-
Margin pressure and stop-out
-
Spread widening and slippage
-
Losses from safety-cut operations
-
Partial or complete loss of trading capital
Factors Affecting Results
Trading results depend on settings, capital, leverage, lot multiplier, broker conditions, execution quality, trading sessions, economic events, VPS reliability and market behaviour.
Different users can obtain substantially different results while using the same Expert Advisor.
Factory and Custom Settings
The provided settings are factory defaults, not guaranteed-safe or universally suitable recommendations.
Changing major inputs can materially affect trade frequency, lot sizing, recovery exposure, margin requirements, drawdown and closing behaviour.
Before Live Trading
Users should test the Expert Advisor in Strategy Tester and on a demo account, review all settings, understand the dashboard and maintain sufficient margin for the selected operating profile.
Only capital that can be afforded to risk should be used.
Historical performance does not guarantee future results.
3. Broker and Trading Conditions
HBS requires a MetaTrader 5 broker that supports Gold trading, automated trading and suitable order execution.
| Requirement | Recommended direction |
|---|---|
| Platform | MetaTrader 5 |
| Trading symbol | Gold / XAUUSD |
| Account type | Cent account preferred for smaller-capital configurations |
| Automated trading | Must be permitted |
| Leverage | Around 1:1000 where available and appropriate |
| Spread | Stable and reasonably low |
| Execution | Reliable order opening and closing |
| Margin | Sufficient for the configured basket exposure |
Broker symbol names may include XAUUSD, GOLD, XAUUSD.c or XAUUSDm.
Always select the correct Gold symbol provided by the broker.
Account specifications, contract sizes, minimum trade volumes, margin requirements and trading sessions may differ between brokers.
Users are responsible for reviewing these conditions before trading.
Pipbit HBS Gold does not require a particular broker or referral registration.
4. VPS and Platform Reliability
HBS can operate on a compatible desktop computer or Windows VPS running MetaTrader 5.
A VPS is useful when traders want MT5 to remain active without relying on their personal computer.
Recommended VPS Characteristics
| Component | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows environment compatible with MT5 |
| Platform | MetaTrader 5 |
| Connection | Stable, low-latency internet |
| Availability | Reliable continuous operation |
| Resources | Adequate processor, memory and storage |
| Remote access | Available for monitoring |
| Server location | Preferably close to the broker's servers |
A VPS does not eliminate trading risk, server outages, internet interruptions, execution delays or broker-side problems.
Important: MQL5 Market activations are associated with hardware and operating-system configurations. Moving to another computer or VPS may require another activation.
5. Recommended Trading Environment
| Item | Recommended direction |
|---|---|
| Platform | MetaTrader 5 |
| Symbol | Gold / XAUUSD |
| Timeframe | M1 |
| Account type | Cent preferred for smaller-capital configurations |
| Leverage | Around 1:1000 where available |
| Algo Trading | Enabled |
| VPS | Recommended for reliable operation |
| EA setup | One instance on one Gold M1 chart for normal use |
Why M1 Is Recommended
HBS is intended to operate on an M1 chart.
Changing the timeframe may affect candle-based controls, entry timing and the interpretation of displayed guide lines.
Cent and Standard Accounts
Cent accounts allow smaller effective monetary exposure while retaining the basket structure.
Standard accounts may involve substantially larger monetary exposure with comparable lot settings.
Traders should understand their account's contract specifications rather than assuming identical lot sizes have identical financial risk.
Platform Uptime
HBS requires MT5 to remain open, connected and authorized for automated trading to manage positions.
A visible dashboard does not necessarily mean the trading connection is active.
6. Capital and Lot Multiplier Guide
HBS includes adjustable Lot Multiplier and Starter Lot Size parameters.
These determine the scale of the basket trading system.
The following examples illustrate how the original HBS sizing guide relates cent-account balances to different lot multipliers.
| Real deposit | Displayed cent balance | Example LM | Approx. starter lot |
|---|---|---|---|
| USD 125 | 12,500 USC | 0.25 | 0.01 |
| USD 250 | 25,000 USC | 0.50 | 0.02 |
| USD 375 | 37,500 USC | 0.75 | 0.03 |
| USD 500 | 50,000 USC | 1.00 | 0.04 |
| USD 625 | 62,500 USC | 1.25 | 0.05 |
| USD 750 | 75,000 USC | 1.50 | 0.06 |
| USD 875 | 87,500 USC | 1.75 | 0.07 |
| USD 1,000 | 100,000 USC | 2.00 | 0.08 |
These examples assume the corresponding sizing configuration and are not universal capital requirements.
Smaller-Capital Illustration
USD 125 deposited into a cent account, giving a displayed balance of 12,500 USC, with Lot Multiplier 0.25 and an approximate starter lot of 0.01.
Reference Sizing Illustration
USD 500 deposited into a cent account, giving a displayed balance of 50,000 USC, with Lot Multiplier 1.00 and an approximate starter lot of 0.04.
These are sizing illustrations, not guarantees of adequate margin or account safety.
In particular, the Market edition's G19/G20 factory settings permit deeper basket progression. Capital examples from the original HBS manual must not be interpreted as validated funding requirements for that configuration.
Users must assess margin, maximum exposure, broker contract size, leverage and stop-out conditions.
7. Factory Settings and Starting Configuration
The MQL5 Market edition provides a complete set of configurable factory inputs.
Unlike a fixed trading signal service, HBS allows users to adjust how the trading system operates.
Main Factory Settings
| Setting | Factory value |
|---|---|
| Lot Multiplier | 1.00 |
| Starter Lot Size | 0.04 |
| Winning Basket TP | 30.00 |
| Recovery Basket TP | 30.00 |
| Use Scaled Grid Distance | ON |
| Use Scaled Basket TP | ON |
| Use Scaled Hard Cut Level | ON |
| Use Deep Basket Safety | ON |
| Deep Safety Starts From G Level | 19 |
| Final Hard Cut At G Level | 20 |
| Active Trading Hours | 08:00–04:00 |
| News Filter | ON |
| News Block Mode | FREEZE |
| Session Block Mode | ADVANCED_FREEZE |
| Manual Session Block | OFF |
| Weekend Safety | ON |
| Weekend Freeze Mode | ADVANCED_FREEZE |
| Daily Profit Target | 0 = Unlimited |
Understanding G19/G20
The factory configuration permits basket progression into relatively deep recovery levels.
It gives the recovery system more operating room before the configured final cutoff stage, but may also create significant floating losses and margin exposure.
G19/G20 should be regarded as an aggressive factory configuration, not a beginner-safe setting.
Users may select earlier Deep Safety and Final Hard Cut levels according to their own testing and risk preferences.
Before Using the Factory Configuration
Review the Lot Multiplier, account capital, leverage, margin availability, trading session, safety levels and all other relevant inputs.
Do not assume that the factory defaults are suitable for every account.
8. Custom Settings and .set Files
HBS allows traders to customize available parameters through the MetaTrader 5 Inputs window.
Personal settings can be saved as .set files and loaded when required.
Creating a Configuration
-
Begin with the factory settings or an existing saved profile.
-
Change only the settings you understand.
-
Test the configuration in Strategy Tester.
-
Observe basket progression, drawdown and margin requirements.
-
Perform additional demo testing where appropriate.
-
Save the settings when satisfied.
Saving and Loading Settings
Open the EA's Inputs tab.
Use Save to store the current configuration as an MT5 .set file, and Load to restore it.
Example filename:
HBS341_LM050_G19-G20.set
Review Settings Before Reusing Them
Check differences in broker, account type, capital, leverage, Gold contract specification, trading timezone and software version.
An old .set file can override the current factory defaults.
Whenever possible, apply major configuration changes while no basket is active.
9. Installation Through MQL5 Market
Pipbit HBS Gold is installed and activated through the official MQL5 Market system.
Step 1 — Sign In
Open MetaTrader 5 and sign in to the MQL5 Community account used to purchase the product.
Step 2 — Locate the Product
Open the Market area in MetaTrader 5 and locate Pipbit HBS Gold among your purchased products. You can also view the official HBS product page on MQL5 Market.
Install the product through the terminal's Market interface.
Menu names may differ according to the MetaTrader 5 build.
Step 3 — Open the Gold Chart
Open the broker's Gold / XAUUSD symbol and select the M1 timeframe.
Step 4 — Attach the Expert Advisor
Locate Pipbit HBS Gold in the Navigator and attach it to the Gold chart.
Step 5 — Review Permissions
Enable Algo Trading in MetaTrader 5.
HBS does not require DLL imports or external Expert Advisor imports for normal operation.
Step 6 — Review Inputs
Before starting, verify:
-
Lot Multiplier and Starter Lot Size
-
Timezone and session hours
-
Magic Number
-
Profit target and basket scaling settings
-
Deep Safety and Final Hard Cut
-
News, spread, session and weekend controls
-
Any custom .set file
Step 7 — Confirm the Dashboard
The dashboard should appear when the EA is attached, without waiting for a new market tick.
Displayed account or market information may depend on the data currently available in MT5.
Multiple Instances
For normal live use, one HBS instance on one Gold M1 chart per trading account is recommended.
Advanced multiple-instance configurations require separate Magic Numbers and careful consideration of combined account exposure.
10. Verifying That HBS Is Running Correctly
After installation, check the following items.
| Check | Expected result |
|---|---|
| Symbol | Correct broker Gold symbol |
| Timeframe | M1 |
| Algo Trading | Enabled |
| Dashboard | Visible |
| Version | HBS V3.41 Market edition |
| Lot Multiplier | Intended value |
| Deep Safety | Intended value |
| Final Hard Cut | Intended value |
| Gate | Current entry-permission status understood |
| Block | Current basket-restriction mode understood |
| Internet | Connected for normal live trading |
Gate Status
Gate=OK indicates that new starter positions may be permitted if the internal entry conditions are satisfied.
It does not mean a trade must open immediately.
Block Status
Block describes how active restrictions affect basket management.
Gate and Block should be read together because they provide different information.
Before Leaving HBS Running
Review open BUY and SELL baskets, equity, margin, selected safety levels and the trading connection.
11. How HBS Trades and Manages Baskets
HBS uses predefined trading logic to open and manage baskets on Gold / XAUUSD.
Users can configure its operating controls without modifying the underlying entry strategy.
Starter Entry
HBS may open a starter position when its internal entry conditions are satisfied and the active trading controls permit new entries.
These controls include session timing, spread limits, news restrictions, manual restrictions, weekend safety and basket safety conditions.
Winning Basket
A basket that has not entered recovery uses the Winning Basket TP setting.
The factory value is 30.00, which may be adjusted by the scaling settings.
Recovery Basket
When the next internal trigger is reached, HBS may add another basket position.
After the basket enters recovery, it uses the Recovery Basket TP setting.
Next Grid Trigger
During normal operation, the basket may add the next recovery layer.
During ADVANCED_FREEZE, the system closes the existing basket instead of adding the next layer when the relevant trigger is reached.
During FORCED_EXIT, positions are closed according to the applicable forced-exit behaviour.
What Users Can Configure
Users may adjust exposure, profit targets, session timing, spread restrictions, news handling, weekend controls, block modes, safety levels and restart behaviour.
What Remains Predefined
The entry logic, internal basket ladder, recovery architecture and main trade-management flow are part of the HBS trading engine.
These are not user-programmable inputs.
12. Basket Scaling, TP and Recovery
Basket scaling determines how selected trading values change with the Lot Multiplier.
| Input | Factory default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Starter Lot Size | 0.04 | Base starter volume |
| Lot Multiplier | 1.00 | Overall operating scale |
| Winning Basket TP | 30.00 | TP before recovery |
| Recovery Basket TP | 30.00 | TP after recovery begins |
| Use Scaled Grid Distance | true | Scale recovery trigger distances |
| Use Scaled Basket TP | true | Scale basket profit targets |
| Use Scaled Hard Cut Level | true | Scale the monetary hard-cut reference |
TP Scaling Example
When Scaled Basket TP is enabled and the base target is 30.00:
| Lot Multiplier | Example scaled TP |
|---|---|
| 0.25 | 7.50 |
| 0.50 | 15.00 |
| 1.00 | 30.00 |
| 2.00 | 60.00 |
Scaled Hard Cut
Use Scaled Hard Cut Level changes the monetary safety-cut reference associated with the selected level.
It does not automatically change the selected Final Hard Cut G level.
Operational Caution
Changing the Lot Multiplier, Starter Lot Size, target values or scaling settings during an active basket may materially alter the management of existing positions.
Avoid changing these parameters mid-basket unless their effects are fully understood.
13. Deep Safety Mode and Final Hard Cut
HBS includes configurable deeper-basket safety mechanisms.
These controls are intended to manage basket progression and provide defined safety actions, but they cannot guarantee account protection.
| Input | Factory default |
|---|---|
| Use Deep Basket Safety | true |
| Deep Safety Starts From G Level | 19 |
| Final Hard Cut At G Level | 20 |
| After Hard Cut: Wait Next Session | true |
| After Hard Cut: Close Both Buy & Sell | true |
Deep Safety Mode
With the factory configuration, Deep Safety begins at G19.
This represents a deeper basket stage and the operation of the associated safety behaviour.
It does not guarantee that a basket will recover.
Final Hard Cut
With the factory configuration, the final cutoff stage is G20.
When the relevant Final Hard Cut conditions are met, HBS closes positions according to the configured safety controls.
A hard cut may realize a substantial loss.
Reaching G20 does not necessarily mean the account has a predetermined maximum percentage loss.
After a Hard Cut
When the corresponding options are enabled, HBS may close both BUY and SELL sides and rest until the next trading session.
The dashboard may show Gate=DeepRest during this period.
Under the normal 08:00–04:00 session configuration, trading typically resumes around 08:00 in the configured timezone.
Choosing Different Safety Levels
Lower levels may cause earlier intervention, reducing permitted recovery depth but potentially realizing basket losses sooner.
Higher levels may permit more recovery opportunities while increasing potential margin usage, floating drawdown and capital exposure.
Neither configuration guarantees a better financial outcome.
G19/G20 is an aggressive default. Traders must assess whether their capital and risk tolerance can support the associated basket exposure.
14. Block Modes and Priority
HBS uses Block Modes to determine what happens when trading restrictions become active.
| Mode | New starters | Existing baskets | Next grid trigger |
|---|---|---|---|
| FREEZE | Blocked | Continue normal management | May add next layer |
| ADVANCED_FREEZE | Blocked | Remain open | Close instead of expanding |
| FORCED_EXIT | Blocked | Close according to forced-exit rule | Not applicable |
| NO_BLOCK | Not restricted by that condition | Continue normally | Continue normally |
Block Priority
When multiple trading restrictions overlap, the strongest mode takes priority.
FORCED_EXIT > ADVANCED_FREEZE > FREEZE > NO_BLOCK
Examples
Session ADVANCED_FREEZE combined with News FREEZE results in ADVANCED_FREEZE.
News FORCED_EXIT combined with Session ADVANCED_FREEZE results in FORCED_EXIT.
Weekend FORCED_EXIT takes priority over weaker active block modes.
Dashboard Display
The dashboard may display:
-
Block=None
-
Block=Freeze
-
Block=AdvFreeze
-
Block=ForcedExit
Gate and Block describe different aspects of the operating state.
15. Session, News, Manual and Weekend Controls
Active Trading Hours
The factory session runs from 08:00 until 04:00 the following day, using the configured GMT+8 timezone.
The normal resting period is 04:00–08:00.
Active hours permit starters when all other entry conditions are satisfied. They do not force trades to open.
Session Block
The factory Session Block Mode is ADVANCED_FREEZE.
Outside active hours, new starters are blocked. Existing baskets remain open, but may close instead of adding another layer if the next recovery trigger is reached.
Manual Session Block
Manual Session Block is disabled by default.
Users can enable this control to apply the configured Manual Block Mode without removing the EA from the chart.
The factory Manual Block Mode is ADVANCED_FREEZE.
Economic News Filter
Factory settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Use News Filter | true |
| Block Minutes Before News | 30 |
| Block Minutes After News | 30 |
| Block High Impact News Only | true |
| News Currency Filter | USD |
| News Block Mode | FREEZE |
The news filter uses supported economic calendar information.
During News FREEZE, new starters are blocked, while existing baskets continue according to the applicable basket logic.
News filtering cannot prevent every market event or guarantee protection from volatility.
Weekend Safety
Factory settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Use Weekend Safety | true |
| Weekend Freeze Start Hour | 2 |
| Weekend Forced Exit Hour | 4 |
| Weekend Freeze Mode | ADVANCED_FREEZE |
| Block Basket Expansion During Weekend Freeze | true |
During Weekend Freeze, new entries are blocked, and basket management follows the selected freeze behaviour.
At the configured forced-exit time, remaining positions are closed according to the weekend safety rules.
All hours are interpreted using the selected user timezone.

17. Dashboard Explanation
HBS includes an on-chart dashboard displaying operating status, account information, basket activity, restrictions and safety state.
In the Market edition, the dashboard initializes when the EA is attached and refreshes independently of incoming market ticks.
Main Status
The dashboard identifies the HBS version and current operating state.
For example, it may display the configured maximum basket level alongside current Block and Gate statuses.
Gate Statuses
| Gate | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Gate=OK | New starter permitted when entry logic is valid |
| Gate=Hours | Outside active session |
| Gate=News | News restriction |
| Gate=Spread | Spread above permitted limit |
| Gate=Manual | Manual restriction active |
| Gate=DailyCap | Daily target reached |
| Gate=WkndCut | Weekend restriction |
| Gate=WkndExit | Weekend forced exit |
| Gate=DeepRest | Rest following Final Hard Cut |
Unlike the original HBS editions, the MQL5 Market edition does not use custom account-binding or licence-expiry Gate restrictions.
Block Statuses
| Display | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Block=None | No active block restriction |
| Block=Freeze | Freeze active |
| Block=AdvFreeze | Advanced Freeze active |
| Block=ForcedExit | Forced Exit active |
Account and Basket Information
The dashboard may show:
-
Timezone and trading session
-
Lot Multiplier and TP settings
-
Deep Safety and Final Hard Cut values

-
Used margin, free margin and margin level
-
Current spread
-
BUY and SELL basket information
-
Daily closed and floating results
-
News and manual restriction statuses
Common Misunderstandings
Gate=OK does not mean a trade must open. The entry conditions must still be satisfied.
Block=None does not mean every entry condition is satisfied. A Gate condition may prevent new starters.
Block=AdvFreeze does not mean immediate basket closure. Existing baskets remain open until the applicable closing condition or next trigger is reached.
DailyCap=Unlimited does not mean unlimited trading safety. It means the configured daily profit target is disabled.
18. MQL5 Market Licensing and Activations
Pipbit HBS Gold uses the official MQL5 Market purchase, installation, protection and activation system.
Purchase and Ownership
The product purchase is associated with the buyer's MQL5 account.
Buyers install their purchased Expert Advisor through MetaTrader 5 using the appropriate MQL5 account.
Activations
The product is supplied with five MQL5 Market activations under its initial sales configuration.
An activation is associated with a particular computer hardware and operating-system configuration.
Changing computers, reinstalling an operating system or moving to a different VPS may require another activation.
MT5 Trading Accounts
The Market edition does not require separate HBS account-number registration or custom account binding.
The MQL5 Market activation system is distinct from the MT5 trading account number.
Expiration
The permanent purchase has no custom HBS expiry date.
This does not provide unlimited hardware activations. The product remains subject to MQL5 Market's installation and activation rules.
Product Updates
Updated product versions are distributed through MQL5 Market.
Buyers should review available updates and their settings before installing a newer version.
The buyer is responsible for retaining backups of any custom .set files or operating records.
Licensing Support
Installation and activation are managed through the official MQL5 Market system.
For product-specific operating questions, buyers can contact the seller through MQL5 product comments or the MQL5 messaging system.
19. Daily Operation and Custom Testing
Before leaving HBS operating, review the current account and trading conditions.
| Item | What to check |
|---|---|
| Symbol | Correct Gold chart |
| Timeframe | M1 |
| Algo Trading | Enabled |
| Dashboard | Visible and updating |
| Gate and Block | Current status understood |
| Lot Multiplier | Intended exposure |
| Deep Safety | Appropriate configured level |
| Final Hard Cut | Appropriate configured level |
| Free margin | Sufficient for current positions |
| Internet / VPS | Connected and stable |
| Spread | Within acceptable conditions |
| BUY and SELL baskets | Current exposure reviewed |
Before Changing Settings
Review any open baskets before changing major controls.
Changes to Lot Multiplier, Starter Lot Size, TP, scaling, safety levels, Magic Number, block modes and trading sessions may affect existing basket behaviour.
Whenever possible, change major settings while no HBS basket is active.
Testing a Custom Configuration
-
Start with the current factory settings or saved profile.
-
Decide which operating characteristic you want to test.
-
Adjust the relevant inputs.
-
Save the new profile.
-
Run a Strategy Tester backtest.
-
Examine drawdown, margin use and basket progression.
-
Perform demo testing where appropriate.
-
Keep records of the configuration and results.
Useful Test Records
Record the EA version, .set filename, broker, account type, capital, leverage, test period, lot multiplier, maximum drawdown, deepest basket level, safety events and unusual observations.
A profitable historical period does not establish how the system will behave under future market conditions.
Ongoing Monitoring
HBS is automated, but regular monitoring remains recommended.
Automation does not eliminate market risk, technical disruptions or the responsibility to manage account exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions
What platform does HBS use?
MetaTrader 5.
Which symbol and timeframe should I use?
The broker's Gold / XAUUSD symbol on M1.
Does HBS require a cent account?
No. Cent accounts are preferred for smaller-capital configurations, but users must assess the exposure associated with their own account specifications.
What is the factory Lot Multiplier?
1.00.
What are the factory safety levels?
Deep Safety G19 and Final Hard Cut G20.
Can I choose lower safety levels?
Yes. Both safety controls are configurable.
Are G19/G20 guaranteed to be profitable?
No. These levels permit deeper recovery progression and can result in significant drawdown and losses.
Can I save my own configuration?
Yes, using MetaTrader 5 .set files.
What does Block=AdvFreeze mean?
New starters are blocked. An existing basket remains open but closes instead of adding another recovery layer if the applicable next grid trigger is reached.
What does Gate=OK mean?
The system may open a new starter if its internal entry conditions are valid.
Can I pause new trading without removing HBS?
Yes. Use Manual Session Block with the configured Block Mode.
Can I use different MT5 trading accounts?
The MQL5 Market edition does not impose its own custom account-number binding. MQL5 hardware/OS activation requirements still apply.
Does the permanent purchase expire?
There is no custom HBS licence expiry on the permanent Market edition.
Does HBS guarantee profit or recovery?
No.
Final Risk Reminder
Pipbit HBS Gold is a configurable automated basket-trading system.
Its results depend on market conditions, user-selected settings, capital, leverage, contract specifications, execution quality and operating decisions.
Deep basket recovery can result in large floating losses. A Final Hard Cut can realize substantial losses and does not guarantee protection of a particular amount of capital.
Users should understand their selected operating configuration and the associated financial risks before trading.
