Automating Telegram Signals in MT5: From Chaotic Chat Messages to Sub-Second Trade Execution

Hi all,
Like many here, I've always been skeptical of the performance claims made by Telegram signal providers. Instead of trying to evaluate them manually, I built a setup to execute and track 17 channels automatically in MT5 to see how they perform under realistic conditions.
The Setup
• Listener: Python async daemon (Telethon) listening to incoming messages and edits.
• Parser: Regex layer normalizing symbols, multiple TP targets, and entry ranges.
• Execution: Fast IPC routing to MT5, tagging each channel with a unique Magic Number.
• Tracking: Custom MQL5 on-chart HUD logging open equity, realized P&L, deal counts, and win rates per channel.
Key Challenges Faced
• Non-standard syntax: Every channel uses different formats, emojis, and phrasing.
• Message edits: Handling "SL to BE" or "Close half" posted as an edit or reply to an earlier message.
• Latency: High volatility on Gold means even a 2-second delay can turn a winning entry into a bad fill.
Live Stream
I set up a 24/7 stream showing the dashboard and execution live on an IC Markets demo account for anyone interested in following the data:
Questions for the Community
For those who have built Telegram or webhook copiers:
1. How do you handle ambiguous updates like "close now" or voice notes?
2. What latency do you typically see from message broadcast to MT5 OrderSend?
Feedback and thoughts on improving the parsing logic or metrics are very welcome.
