I. OFFICIAL PRESET FILES (SET FILES) OVERVIEW

The default settings of Tectonic Gold represent an optimized, balanced risk profile that is directly suited for the vast majority of traders and standard account types without requiring manual adjustments.

For specialized objectives, prop firm evaluations, or aggressive growth goals, the following dedicated preset files are provided:

• Default Settings (Balanced): The core balanced profile. Moderate strategy deployment and disciplined risk management recommended for general everyday trading.

• Tectonic Gold High Risk: Configured with a higher dynamic lot calculation value combined with Auto trading intensity. Designed for aggressive capital compounding on personal accounts where growth speed is prioritized.

• Tectonic Gold Low Risk: Utilizes a conservative, lower lot sizing value paired with Auto trading intensity. Ideal for risk-averse investors, smaller capital accounts, and long-term capital preservation.

• Tectonic Gold Very High Intensity: Engages the maximum number of active strategies via the Very High intensity setting, balanced by a controlled, medium lot sizing structure. Generates frequent trading opportunities while keeping individual position risk moderate.

• Tectonic Gold Prop: Built specifically for Prop Firm evaluations and funded accounts (such as FTMO, FundedNext, etc.). Features a hard 3% Daily Drawdown lock, a 9% Maximum Trailing Drawdown protection protocol, and conservative low-risk lot sizing to strictly preserve evaluation rules.

The system strictly avoids risky methods such as martingale, grid, or unchecked averaging. Every trade is secured by an individual stop loss and take profit.

III. QUICK START

1. Open an XAUUSD chart in MetaTrader 5 and attach Tectonic Gold. The chart timeframe does not matter.

2. Enable the Algo Trading button in the top toolbar of MT5, and ensure Allow Algo Trading is checked in the Common tab of the EA settings.

3. Load one of the dedicated set files linked in this guide according to your risk tolerance.

IV. DETAILED INPUT SETTINGS EXPLANATION

01 - GENERAL & INFO

• Setup Guide Link (Double-click to Copy): Quick link to documentation.

• Product Page Link (Double-click to Copy): Direct link to the official product page.

• Enable Dashboard: Turns the on-chart visual panel on or off. Displays real-time account metrics, floating profit, spread, win rate, and active safety statuses.

• Magic Number: The base order identifier. The internal strategies generate their individual trade IDs from this starting number. If you run the EA on multiple charts or with different settings on the same account, always set them sufficiently apart (for example 1100, 1200 or 2000, 3000) so the charts do not interfere with each other.

• Order comment: The text comment attached to every order sent to the broker.

02 - TRADE SETUP

• Trade Direction: Controls the permitted trading direction.
  Buy and Sell: Enables both long (buy) and short (sell) trades simultaneously. This is the recommended default setting.
  Only Buy: Restricts the EA strictly to long positions.
  Only Sell: Restricts the EA strictly to short positions.

• Intensity: Sets the trading frequency and risk profile. Moving from Very Low to Very High gradually increases the number of active strategies running in parallel, which also increases trading opportunities and overall risk.
  Very Low: Highly conservative trading.
  Low: Conservative baseline.
  Medium: Balanced profile recommended for most accounts.
  High: High-frequency trading for faster growth.
  Very High: Maximum strategy deployment.
  Auto: Dynamically adjusts intensity based on account balance and risk configuration.

• Use High/Low Trailing SL: Dynamic swing trailing stop loss tracking fractal and market structure levels.

• Broker-time Friday close hour: Closes open trades and cancels pending orders on Friday evening to prevent weekend gap exposure. Can be set to Off or to a specific broker server hour (e.g. Hour 20, Hour 21).

• Fake breakout filter level: Multi-timeframe confirmation filter that checks higher-timeframe candlestick closes (such as M15, M30, H1) before executing breakout orders, avoiding sudden wick rejections.

02b - SPREAD FILTER

• Use spread filter: Master switch for spread monitoring.

• Max entry spread (USD): Maximum permissible spread in dollars (e.g. 0.5 means $0.50 on Gold). If the spread exceeds this value, new pending setups are paused and active pendings are cleared.

• Recovery spread threshold (USD): The spread level Gold must return to before trading can resume (e.g. 0.4 means $0.40).

• Required stable seconds before recovery: Stabilization timer in seconds. The spread must continuously remain below the recovery threshold for this duration before new orders are allowed, preventing entries during ongoing erratic volatility.

03 - NEWS & TIME

Note: The economic calendar news filter functions exclusively during live trading, as MetaTrader 5 does not provide historical calendar data inside the Strategy Tester.

• Use MT5 Calendar Filter: Enables automated filtering using MetaTrader 5 economic calendar data.

• News Currency: Target currency to monitor (USD for Gold).

• News Importance: Select High Only for major events, or Medium and High for broader news coverage.

• Mins Before News: Pause window in minutes before a scheduled news release.

• Mins After News: Pause window in minutes after a scheduled news release.

• Delete pending orders: Cancels active pending orders during the news blackout window.

• Close open positions: Closes live market positions ahead of news releases.

• Enable NFP extra protection: Standalone high-impact shield for US Non-Farm Payrolls releases. This feature can be used even if the general MT5 Calendar Filter is turned off. If both are enabled, the NFP shield uses its own dedicated time windows and closing rules independently from standard news.

• NFP: close open positions: Closes open trades ahead of NFP.

• NFP: delete pending orders: Deletes pending orders ahead of NFP.

• NFP protection window before (minutes): Pre-NFP pause window in minutes.

• NFP protection window after (minutes): Post-NFP pause window in minutes.

• Draw Lines on Chart: Draws visual milestone lines on the chart for upcoming economic events.

04 - PROP FIRM & RISK PROTECTION

• Randomization for Entry/SL/TP (pips): Adds slight micro-variations to entry and exit prices. Crucial for Prop Firm challenges to ensure account execution remains unique and avoids copy-trading detection across multiple users.

• Enable Daily Drawdown protection: Monitors daily equity changes measured from midnight broker time.

• Max Daily DD limit (%): Maximum permitted daily drawdown percentage. If reached, all trades are closed, pending orders are removed, and trading is halted until the next day.

• Enable Max Drawdown protection: Monitors total account drawdown.

• Max DD type: Static (initial) vs Trailing (peak):
  Static: Drawdown is measured against the initial starting balance/deposit.
  Trailing: Drawdown baseline tracks the highest peak equity achieved.

• Max DD limit (%): Maximum total account drawdown percentage. Once reached, all trades are permanently closed and trading is halted.

• Minimum balance to allow trading: Absolute safety balance floor below which the EA stops trading.

• Override balance for lot sizing: Allows you to manually define the balance amount used for lot calculations (e.g. locking it at 100000 on a $100k prop account regardless of daily balance fluctuations).

05 - MONEY MANAGEMENT & LOT SIZE

• Use Equity for lot sizing: When enabled, calculations use live floating equity; when disabled, calculations use closed account balance.

• Lot mode:
  Dynamic Lot By Risk Level: Dynamically calculates volume according to your chosen risk percentage.
  Fixed Lot: Trades strictly with the fixed volume defined in the settings.
  Scaled Lot: Uses a proportional scaling multiplier.
  Risk Per Strategy: Distributes a defined risk percentage individually per active strategy.

• Fixed lot size: The fixed volume used when Fixed Lot mode is active.

• RiskLevel % for dynamic lot calculation: Main risk scaling factor. Represents the balanced exposure across all active strategies on the account.

• Max Risk Per Strategy (%): Maximum allowable risk percentage allocated to any single strategy.

• High-Water Mark for lot sizing: When enabled, prevents lot sizes from dropping during temporary drawdowns by sizing positions based on peak account equity.
