I don't believe in happy accidents. I believe in hard work, in numbers, and in people who know how to wait.
I've been coding for 12 years. Seven of those have been trading algorithms in MQL5. During this time, I've developed over 70 Expert Advisors. About ten have proven profitable historically. AI Thomas is a trading advisor for XAUUSD on the H1 timeframe, using two built-in ONNX models: the first determines the direction of a potential trade, the second evaluates the quality of the entry moment. Signals are additionally verified by a SuperTrend trend filter, current spread, available margin, and open-position limits.

AI Thomas — intelligent gold market analysis

AI Thomas combines machine learning, trend filtering, and automatic position management in a single advisor for MetaTrader 5. The trading decision is formed by two ONNX models. The primary model analyzes market direction, while the secondary model acts as an entry-quality filter. A trade is opened only when direction, signal quality, and the configured trading constraints are all confirmed simultaneously. The built-in SuperTrend helps filter out signals against the current market movement. By default, calculation is performed on the closed bar, which reduces the decision's dependence on an unfinished candle.

AI Thomas is not a "print money" button. It's a real trading algorithm. And real trading has its own rules.

1. We look at the positive results not over a day or a week, but over 1-2 months. There will be days in the red. There will be weeks without profit. This is normal. One successful month can easily outweigh several slow weeks. If you're willing to wait 24 hours for results, this advisor is not for you.

2. Every trade has a stop-loss. No martingale. No grid. No "topping up" until the trade is recouped. We take losses quickly and move on. That's why some days may be negative.

3. The neural network and 20 algorithms work as a single mechanism. The ONNX filter selects only those setups where the probability of a move in our favor is higher. But probability is not a guarantee. We trade the real market, not history.

4. The deposit must withstand the series. The recommended deposit is at least $500-$1000 on a Pro account. Any less, and one bad day will start to affect your nerves more than your results.

5. Discipline is more important than emotions. Don't turn off the EA after the first loss. Don't change the lot after a successful week. Don't add manually. Launch it and let the system run for at least 30-60 days.

How the strategy works

When a new bar appears, the advisor prepares input data for the two AI models.
The primary model determines the probable direction of movement.
The second model evaluates the quality of the entry moment.
The signal is verified by the built-in SuperTrend trend filter.
Additionally, spread, free margin, number of open positions, time interval, and distance between entries are checked.
After a position is opened, the advisor manages Stop Loss, Take Profit, breakeven, and trailing stop on every tick.
When close-on-reverse-signal is enabled, the position can be closed when the model's direction changes.

Interactive signals

Confirmed signals are marked on the chart with BUY and SELL markers. Clicking a marker opens a card with the signal parameters and displays horizontal levels:

Entry — calculated entry price;
SL — risk limitation level;
TP — profit target level.

This allows you to quickly assess the signal structure directly on the chart.

Position management

Each trade is opened with defined Stop Loss and Take Profit. Once the specified profit is reached, the advisor can move Stop Loss to breakeven and then trail the position with a trailing stop.

If close-by-signal is enabled, AI Thomas also monitors model direction changes and can close the position when an opposite signal appears.

Volume management

Two modes are available:

Manual Lot — fixed volume;
Auto Lot — stepwise volume calculation relative to account balance.

When using multiple positions, the advisor can perform repeat entries in the same direction at a defined distance and time interval. The volume of subsequent positions is not multiplied automatically; however, total risk increases with each new position.
