ECFX XAU Redline v1.15: Broader Gold-Symbol Recognition, Same Strategy Core

BROADER BROKER SYMBOL RECOGNITION

The EA now recognises Gold symbols whose names contain XAU or GOLD without case sensitivity. This supports common broker formats such as XAUUSD, XAUUSD.a, GOLD and GOLD.a. It can also identify Gold when the broker's symbol metadata reports XAU as the base currency.

This update is intended to improve compatibility across broker naming conventions. Recognised Gold symbols continue to use the established Redline strategy path; the update does not replace the core trading logic.

REDLINE STRATEGY STRUCTURE

Redline combines its lower-risk v1.11 core with an independently accounted 48-hour and 72-hour trend complement. It is designed for one instance on the M5 timeframe and reads completed H1 bars as part of its decision process.

The EA requires an MT5 Hedging account so its positions can remain independently owned and managed. Broker execution conditions, spreads, swaps, commissions, symbol settings and available history can still affect behaviour and results.

IMPORTANT SETUP NOTES

Run only one instance per account and symbol unless every ownership setting is deliberately separated. Attach Redline to the intended Gold symbol on M5, confirm the account is in Hedging mode, and review every input before enabling automated trading.

START WITH TESTING

Test the exact MQL5 Market version with factory defaults in the MT5 Strategy Tester using your intended broker's Gold symbol. Record the version, inputs, broker, date range, deposit, leverage, modelling quality, spread, commission, swap, trade count and maximum equity drawdown.

Follow long-window testing with a recent fresh-account test and unchanged forward testing on demo. Broker-specific symbol naming may now be recognised more broadly, but broker trading conditions can still differ materially.
