Yes, if you want to copy between MT4 and MT5 terminals, you will need to purchase both MT4 and MT5 versions.

This is the same for all copiers, MT4 and MT5 are 2 different platforms and no MT4 program works on MT5 or vice versa.

Hello, thank you for your message.

This issue is likely due to a difference in price feed between the transmitter and receiver brokers. When the transmitter opens a trade, the receiver may be copying it at a different price if the broker quotes are not aligned at that moment — this is not slippage, but a feed discrepancy.

To investigate this properly, please send me a screenshot showing the transmitter and receiver trades, including their open prices and times, so I can compare them directly.

In the meantime, if you want to force the receiver account to only copy trades at the same or better price as the transmitter, you can use the following settings in the receiver Local Trade Copier EA:

Better Price: true

Better Price Difference in Points: 0

With this setup, the receiver will only copy a trade if the current market price is equal to or better than the transmitter’s entry. Please note, however, that if the market moves quickly in the opposite direction, this may cause the receiver to miss some trades entirely.

How to Install and Setup Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 for the First Time


If any of your brokers use suffixes in their symbols, such as EURUSD.r or EURUSD+, watch the second part of the quick setup video below (starting at 1:30), which explains how to configure the suffix settings:


For example, if your transmitter account has the symbol EURUSD.r and your receiver account has the symbol EURUSD+, configure the receiver Local Trade Copier EA settings as follows:

Suffix of the Transmitter Account: .r

Suffix of the Receiver Account: +

If you are copying between accounts with the same broker, and both transmitter and receiver accounts have a symbol like EURUSDm, you still need to configure the suffix settings:

For instruments like indices or other symbols with entirely different names on the transmitter and receiver sides, you’ll need to use the Special Symbol setup. For example, if the transmitter symbol is US500 and the receiver symbol is SPX500, configure the receiver Local Trade Copier EA settings as follows:

Steps to Troubleshoot Copying Issues with Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5

Please review these key points:

1. Both the transmitter and receiver MT4/5 terminals must run on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.

2. Download and install the custom-branded MT4/5 terminals from your brokers’ websites. Avoid using third-party terminals to prevent symbol mismatches.

3. If installing multiple terminals from the same broker, be sure to choose a different destination folder during installation. Follow this guide:


4. Log into your MQL5 account via Tools > Options > Community, and install the EA via Market > Purchased. Do not manually copy ex4/ex5 files between terminals.

5. Make sure you’re using the latest version of Local Trade Copier EA (MT4: 4.10, MT5: 3.80). Remove older versions from Experts > Market and reinstall the latest.

6. Restart both transmitter and receiver terminals regularly to maintain smooth operation and resolve temporary issues.

8. If using a ‘Risk per Trade’ lot size type, ensure each receiver trade has a Stop Loss. Without it, the EA cannot calculate the lot size, and the trade will not be copied.

9. Copying trades from an MQL5.com Signals subscription is no longer possible due to recent MetaQuotes restrictions.

10. Some VPS services (e.g., Zomro) are blocked by MQL5.com for policy violations. If unsure, check the Journal tab for related errors.

If you still experience issues:

1. Uninstall the EA from both terminals.

2. Restart your PC or VPS.

3. Reinstall the EA via Market > Purchased, ensuring you’re logged into your MQL5 account.

4. Do not reuse old set files from earlier versions (v4.00/v3.70). Manually adjust your settings and save a new set file.

To use the 'Trailing Stop Loss in Points' settings, you must ensure that the Take Profit and Stop Loss levels are not copied from the transmitter trades. This allows you to set custom 'Trailing Stop Loss in Points' for each individual receiver trade.

For example, if you configure the following settings:

Copy Take Profit: false

Copy Stop Loss: false

Use TP/SL Levels in: Points

Take Profit in Points: 500

Stop Loss in Points: 500

Trailing Start in Points: 200

Trailing Stop in Points: 100

Trailing Step in Points: 20

Each copied trade on the receiver side will have a 500-point Take Profit and a 500-point Stop Loss.

Additionally, once a copied trade's profit reaches 200 points, the Local Trade Copier EA will move the Stop Loss to 100 points behind the current price. The Stop Loss will then follow the price in increments of 20 points as the profit increases.

I hope this example clarifies how the settings work.

Hello, in the current version of Local Trade Copier EA the date and time expiration of a pending order is not copied, but the copied pending order will be deleted in the receiver account, when the original transmitter pending order is deleted, as long as you keep the default receiver setting 'Synchronized Trade Closure=true'.

I have already fixed this issue and in the upcoming update of the EA that will be available in a few days, will be possible to copy the date and time expiration of pending orders.

Copy Take Profit: false

Apply TP/SL Levels in: Points

Take Profit in Points: 100

10 pips are 100 points.

!!! I strongly advise you to perform this update only when there are no open trades on the Receiver account, after all receiver copied trades have been closed. Please do not mix old and new versions. Delete the previous versions of Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 and install the new version in all your Transmitter and Receiver terminals !!!


Many improvements have been made in this new version of the Local Trade Copier EA, along with several new features.

1. In the 'Transmitter Comment' setting, it is now possible to use the & symbol to include the transmitter’s account number in the receiver’s copied trades comment. From this update onwards, you can also combine various symbols, for example: #,@,%,& to include multiple details in the Receiver’s trade comment.

2. In the 'Maximum Spread in Points' setting, you can now enter multiple values for different symbols, for example: 10,XAUUSD30,BTCUSD1500. In this example, XAUUSD trades will be copied only if the spread is 30 points or less, BTCUSD if the spread is 1500 points or less, and all other symbols if the spread is 10 points or less.

3. In 'Copying Delay in Seconds', you can now enter a single value like 5 or a range like 5,20 to apply a random delay between 5 and 20 seconds to receiver copied trades.

4. In the 'Retry Attempts in Seconds' setting, the default is now 60 seconds, to prevent excessive log entries during extended failure periods.

5. In the 'Better Price Difference in Points' setting, you can now enter multiple values for different symbols, for example: 10,GBPUSD-20,USDJPY30.

6. A new 'Add/Subtract to Same Lot Size' option has been added, which applies an adjustment to the transmitter’s lot size when 'Same Lot Size' is selected in the 'Lot Size Type' setting. For example, if you enter 0.02 and the transmitter trade is 0.06, the receiver will copy it as 0.08. If you enter -0.02, the same trade will be copied as 0.04.

7. A new 'Specific Lot Size Sequence' lot size type has been added. This defines a sequence of lot sizes (separated by commas) to apply to copied trades of all symbols, including both market and pending orders. For example: 0.01,0.03,0.06,0.09 will copy the first trade as 0.01, the second as 0.03, and so on, with the last value reused for all subsequent trades. Adding ,0 at the end (for example: 0.01,0.03,0.06,0.09,0) will stop copying after the fourth trade. Note: Once a slot is used, it is not reused, even if that trade is later closed.

8. In the 'Copying from Symbol Trade/Order Number' setting, it is now possible to separate long and short trades and set specific values per symbol, such as 2,GBPUSD3,USDJPY4, meaning all symbols will be copied from the second trade onward, GBPUSD from the third, and USDJPY from the fourth.

9. A new 'Copying Up to Symbol Trade/Order Number' setting has been added, which defines up to which trade or order number the receiver should copy for each symbol. For example, entering 4 will copy only the first four trades/orders of every symbol, skipping any beyond that. The count resets whenever all transmitter trades of a symbol are closed. You can also set specific values per symbol, such as 2,GBPUSD3,USDJPY4 meaning all symbols will be copied up to the second trade, GBPUSD up to the third, and USDJPY up to the fourth.

10. In the 'Total Symbol Copied Trades' setting, you can now enter a single number to apply to all symbols. For example, entering 4 will copy up to four trades/orders for each symbol. You can also specify values per symbol, such as 2,GBPUSD3,USDJPY4 meaning two trades/orders for all symbols, three for GBPUSD, and four for USDJPY.

11. In the 'Total Symbol Copied Volume' setting, you can now enter a single number to apply to all symbols. For example, entering 4 will copy up to four lots of trades/orders for each symbol. You can also set specific values per symbol, such as 2,GBPUSD3,USDJPY4, meaning two lots for all symbols, three for GBPUSD, and four for USDJPY.

12. In 'Closure Delay in Seconds', you can now enter a single value like 5 or a range like 5,20 to apply a random delay between 5 and 20 seconds when closing receiver copied trades.

13. In the 'Closure Better Price Difference in Points' setting, you can now enter multiple values for different symbols, for example: 10,GBPUSD-20,USDJPY30.

14. In the 'Reopen Receiver Copied Trades' setting, a new 'At a Specific Time' option has been added, which will reopen receiver closed trades/orders at a specific time, as long as the original transmitter position remains open.

15. A new 'Close Transmitter if Receiver is Closed' setting has been added, which allows closing the original transmitter trade/order if the corresponding receiver trade/order is closed. Important: This setting must be configured on the Transmitter side of the Local Trade Copier EA.

16. New 'Basket Settings in Average Points' have been added, allowing the receiver to close copied trades when certain profit or loss targets in average points for all copied trades combined are reached.

In conclusion: It is essential to apply this update across all your MT4/5 terminals, ensuring there are no open trades before updating. Wait until all previously copied trades have been closed.

Please do not mix old and new versions. Delete the previous versions of Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 and install the new version in all your transmitter and receiver terminals.

To reiterate, update the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 in all your MT4/5 terminals only when there are no open trades on the Receiver account and after all receiver copied trades have been closed.

My claim was wrong, you can apply different 'Specific Lot Size Sequences' for different symbols in the receiver account, by attaching multiple receiver LTCs, but its not possible to apply different 'Specific Lot Size Sequences' to buy and sell trades separately.

Hello, from what I see you haven't installed Local Trade Copier EA properly, under your MQL5 account, please follow the steps below and try again.

HOW TO INSTALL YOUR PURCHASE

Log into your MQL5 account in MT4 >> Tools >> Options >> Community and install your purchase through your MQL5 account on all MT4 terminals where you intend to use it.

In MT4 go to the Terminal window >> Market >> Purchased and then click the Install button on the right of your purchase.

Please note that simply copying and pasting ex4/ files from one MT4 terminal to another will not work for MQL5.com Market purchases.

Additionally, ensure you remain logged into your MQL5 account at all times for the proper functioning of your purchase.

If you can't install your purchase on a VPS, please examine the Journal tab log in your MT4 Terminal/Toolbox window for any messages or errors. It's worth noting that some VPS providers, such as Zomro, may be blocked by MQL5.com for security reasons.
