UT Bot Signal Alerts is a trend indicator for MetaTrader 5 that draws an ATR trailing stop line. It puts a buy or sell arrow on the bar where the close crosses it, with pop-up, sound, push and e-mail alerts.
It is a charting tool. It places no trades and does not touch your orders. Arrows and alerts come from closed bars only. The arrow of a closed bar does not repaint.
It is based on the UT Bot Alerts script known from TradingView and uses the same maths.
Quick start
- Attach the indicator to any chart (any symbol, M1 to MN1).
- Set Key value (default 1.0; a higher value gives fewer arrows) and ATR period (default 10).
- Pop-up alerts are on by default. Turn on Play a sound, Push notification or E-mail if you want them. Push needs your MetaQuotes ID under Tools, Options, Notifications.
What you see on the chart
- A stop line that trails the close at key value x ATR. It is blue while the close is above it and red while the close is below it.
- An up arrow under the candle when the close crosses above the stop line (buy).
- A down arrow over the candle when the close crosses below the stop line (sell).
- An optional dotted EMA line, shown only when the EMA filter is on.
How the signal is built
- In an uptrend the line can only move up, in a downtrend only down, so it never steps back against the trend.
- ATR is Wilder's, seeded with a simple average of the first values, as TradingView computes it.
- A signal is created only when a bar has closed with its close beyond the stop line.
- The arrow and the alert appear on the first tick of the next bar and do not change afterwards. The bar that is still forming never shows an arrow.
- Optional: use the Heikin Ashi close as the source, and keep only the signals that agree with an EMA trend.
Who it is for
For traders who want a simple trailing-stop trend line with alerts on any symbol and timeframe (forex, metals, indices, crypto; M1 to MN1). Not for anyone looking for a ready trading system: it gives no entry size, no exit and no results.

Alerts and Expert Advisor use
One alert per closed-bar arrow, and none while the history loads. For push alerts, set your MetaQuotes ID under Tools, Options, Notifications and turn on Push notification in the inputs. Buffers for iCustom: 0 stop line, 1 line colour index, 2 buy arrow, 3 sell arrow, 4 EMA line. Read the values on closed bars (shift 1 and higher). Alerts do not fire in the Strategy Tester.
How it was checked
- Code check: an every-tick run on EURUSD H1 with default inputs found 0 arrows that changed after their bar closed and 0 on the live bar. The run covered 10,411,052 ticks, 4,644 closed bars and 559 arrows.
- This shows the arrows do not repaint. It says nothing about whether a signal is profitable.
Starting settings
The defaults (key value 1.0, ATR period 10) are a starting point, not a recommendation for any symbol. Check any change on your own symbol and timeframe.

FAQ
- Does it repaint? The stop line of the forming bar moves with price, as with any indicator. A closed bar's arrow and alert do not change.
- Can I try it first? Yes, in the Strategy Tester in visual mode, on any symbol.
- Does it work on gold and crypto? Yes, on any symbol the terminal provides, with the stop distance set by ATR.
- Will it alert my phone? Yes, with the Push notification input and your MetaQuotes ID.
