Hello fellow traders. I would like to present a trading option for those interested in trading but who lack the time to constantly monitor the charts. This trading robot operates based on trends and swing movements; the Expert Advisor (EA) was developed drawing upon five years of continuous trading experience and learning. I believe that sustainable trading requires managing risk in every aspect—including profit management. I have conducted tests from various perspectives; however, I encourage users to perform their own tests and gain a personal understanding. GOLD TIGER (PK Trader EA No.26) is an Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD) on MetaTrader 5, delivered as a single file: no .set file, no Python, no add-ons. Trading is split into 3 independent legs on H2, H1 and H4 charts. The legs share one engine but run on different timeframes, spreading entries across more than one timing.
How it works, in 5 steps:
- 3 independent legs (H2 · H1 · H4) — each leg has its own RSI band, stop-loss distance and trailing stop. U
- p to 3 concurrent positions per leg.
- Real-yield filter — reads the daily direction of the US 10-year real yield (fetched from FRED twice a day), which correlates with gold, and trades only in the aligned direction.
- RSI + ADX entry signal — enters on rebounds in low-trend conditions rather than chasing strong trends.
- ATR stop loss + trailing stop — every trade has a volatility-based stop that trails as profit builds. Position size is set from % risk (default 0.10% per leg).
- 20% drawdown kill-switch — if the account falls 20%, all trades are closed and trading stops (actual drawdown can slightly exceed 20%).
An on-chart dashboard shows monthly P&L, leg status, filter status and trial days left.

Main test: $3,000 start, Jan 2021 – Aug 2026, net profit +$1,298.74 (+43.3%), profit factor 1.53, max equity drawdown 17.97%. These are simulated results, not live trading.

Longer-term check (separate test): 2015 – Oct 2026 (~11.8 years, 99% real ticks, 0.40% risk per leg, $3,000 account): net profit $3,786, profit factor 1.56, max equity drawdown 13.8%, ~35% win rate, longest losing streak 21 trades. Not every year was profitable: 2018–2019 lost money, and most profit came from trending-gold periods (2020, 2022, 2024–2025).
How to read this: the low win rate (23%) is part of the design: losses are cut quickly and winners run. Customers should expect long losing streaks (up to 21 trades in this test). A total return of about 43% over roughly 5.7 years is moderate, so this should not be presented as a high-return strategy.
Results by Starting Capital
Accounts of $5,000 and above showed max drawdown of roughly 7–11%, while small accounts showed 21–36% because the 0.01 minimum lot makes real risk higher than the set risk. Eleven capital levels ($150–$25,000) were tested from 1 Jan 2020 to 4 Oct 2026 (6.75 years). Every level ended profitable, with profit factor 1.64–1.91 and about 500 orders (~75 per year).

How to read it correctly
- Small capital is not safer — the very high return % on $150–$1,000 comes from the minimum lot being large relative to the account, and comes with 21–36% drawdown. Never use it as an expected outcome.
- Risk settings differ between rows — $150 and $300 used 0.10% per leg; $500–$25,000 used 0.40% per leg. This is a supplementary test and cannot be compared directly with the main result (0.10% per leg, +43.3%), nor is it the trial file's default.
- Low win rate, but winners outweigh losers — larger accounts win about 40% of trades with average win 2.8–5.6× the average loss. Expect losing streaks of 12–24 trades, and some years can lose money (for example the $3,000 account in 2026: −$164).
Who It Suits and What to Tell Customers
GOLD TIGER suits customers who can accept long losing streaks and take a long-term view. It does not suit anyone expecting fast or high profits.
Suits
- Gold traders who want a disciplined automated system and less screen time
- Customers who understand that it wins less often but wins bigger, and who can accept about 14–18% drawdown as in the main test
- Customers with a PC or VPS running continuously and an account of $3,000 or more
What customers must be told plainly
- In months of directionless gold (for example 2018–2019 in the long-term test) the strategy can lose money.
- Strong news and price gaps over stop levels, or unusually wide spreads, can cause losses larger than planned.
- Accounts below $3,000 carry higher risk because of the 0.01 minimum lot.
- If the EA cannot reach FRED (WebRequest not allowed), the filter stops once its data is older than 4 days and results are likely lower.
- It trades only when signals appear, about 70–75 trades per year, so the first order can take days to weeks.
- Do not run it with another EA trading gold on the same account.
Free 60-Day Demo Trial and Installation
The trial build (V1.07) works for 60 days from first attach and runs on demo accounts only; on a live account it will not open trades. After 60 days it stops opening new trades (open trades are still managed). Copying, redistributing or modifying the EA file is not permitted.

Installation in 5 steps:
- Copy EA_No_26_GoldTriTimeframeSwingTrend_V1_07_Trial.ex5 into MQL5\Experts (MT5: File → Open Data Folder).
- Restart MT5, or right-click Navigator → Refresh.
- Tools → Options → Expert Advisors: tick Allow algorithmic trading and Allow WebRequest, and add https://fred.stlouisfed.org (one time).
- Open a GOLD chart (any timeframe), drag the EA onto it and tick Allow Algo Trading. No parameters to change.
- Check the dashboard shows TRIAL (demo only): xx days left, and RealYield = Long/Short (not Stale).
