Mizan is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, built for Gold (XAUUSDc) on the M1 (1-minute) timeframe. It looks for entries at support, resistance and trendline levels. Then it manages each trade direction as one basket with clear profit and loss limits.
Mizan works on standard accounts and on cent accounts (USC). A cent account lets you run the grid with a small deposit, which makes it a good way to test Mizan on a live account first.
How it enters
Mizan scans the chart for swing highs and lows. It draws support and resistance levels and the latest up and down trendlines. A new cycle opens when price comes near one of these levels:
- Near support or a rising trendline → Buy
- Near resistance or a falling trendline → Sell
You can run Buy and Sell, Buy only, or Sell only.
How it manages trades
If price moves against the first trade, Mizan adds reinforcement trades at a fixed distance (grid step). Each new trade is slightly larger than the last. You set both the step and the lot increment.
All trades in one direction are closed together as a basket when the target is reached:
- First trade target: a fixed amount when only one trade is open
- Basket target: a default target for the whole basket
- Tiered target: the target changes with total open lots (1.00, 2.00 … 30.00 lots), so larger baskets close at targets that fit their size
Risk controls
- Basket stop loss: closes all trades when total floating loss reaches your limit
- Daily target: stops new cycles for the day once closed profit reaches your goal
- Resume after stop: you choose whether trading continues after a basket stop or waits for the next day
- Magic number filter, so Mizan only manages its own trades
On-chart panel
Shows account and magic number, operation mode, buy and sell trade count, total lots, floating P/L, closed profit today, daily target, max floating loss and daily target status. Support, resistance and trendlines are drawn on the chart with colors you choose.
Using Mizan on a cent account
All money settings (first trade target, basket target, tiered targets, daily target and basket stop loss) are read in your account currency. On a cent account, that currency is cents, not dollars.
Example: a daily target of 20 means 20 USC on a cent account, which is $0.20. To get the same real-dollar results as on a standard account, multiply the money settings by 100. A $20 daily target becomes 2000.
Lot sizes work the same way. 0.01 lot on a cent account is 100 times smaller in real money than 0.01 lot on a standard account.
Gold price decimals
All distances in the settings are in points, and a point on gold depends on your broker:
- 2 decimals (e.g. 2650.25): 300 points = a $3.00 price move
- 3 decimals (e.g. 2650.250): 300 points = a $0.30 price move
The defaults are set for 2-decimal gold. If your broker uses 3 decimals, multiply the grid step, level distance and entry zone by 10.
Recommendations
- Attach Mizan to a XAUUSD M1 chart. Your broker may use a different symbol name, such as GOLD, XAUUSDm or XAUUSD.c. Any of these works.
- Use a hedging account. Mizan keeps buy and sell baskets open at the same time, which netting accounts don't support.
- On a cent account, adjust the money settings to your deposit in cents before you start.
- Set the basket stop loss to fit your account size.
- Test on a demo account and in the Strategy Tester first, using "Every tick based on real ticks" mode so the results reflect real spreads.
- Use a broker with low spreads on gold and fast execution. On M1, spread takes a big share of each move.
- Run on a VPS for stable 24/5 operation.
Risk warning
Mizan uses a grid method with growing lot sizes. Grid systems can build large positions during strong trends, and gold can move fast during news. Losses can be large, even with the basket stop loss on. Past results do not guarantee future results. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
