Overview
Dual Surge is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that places Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders above and below the current market price. After an entry is filled, it manages opposite recovery orders as price moves between the configured boundaries. All managed positions are treated as one basket and can be closed by a virtual profit target or basket trailing logic.
This EA is designed for MT5 hedging accounts. It is not compatible with netting accounts, because the strategy requires simultaneous buy and sell positions on the same symbol.
Entry Method
At the beginning of a new cycle, the EA places Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders at a configurable distance from the current price. The entry distance can be fixed or adjusted by ATR. The ATR mode provides configurable minimum distance, maximum distance and multiplier settings.
An optional ADX filter can restrict new cycles to periods in which the configured trend-strength condition is met. ADX can also be required to rise compared with the previous closed bar. Unfilled entry orders can be cancelled when the trend condition ends or when the configured trading session closes.
Recovery Management
After a position is opened, the EA manages an opposite recovery order using the upper and lower cycle boundaries. If price moves between these boundaries, the system can add alternating buy and sell positions.
Two recovery volume modes are available:
- Dynamic: calculates the required volume from the existing basket projection and target profit.
- Multiplier: applies the configured multiplier to the initial volume at each recovery step.
Users can limit the maximum number of recovery positions, maximum volume per recovery and maximum total open volume. Before submitting an order, the EA checks the symbol volume limits, volume step and estimated free-margin requirement.
Basket Exit
All positions opened by Dual Surge are calculated as one basket. The EA can use a virtual basket profit target or activate basket trailing after the pip-equivalent basket profit reaches a configured level.
The chart display can show the virtual target line, trailing close line, current spread, ADX value, open volumes and basket profit information.
Risk Controls
The following controls are available:
- Maximum spread for a new cycle
- Maximum number of recovery positions
- Maximum volume per recovery
- Maximum total open volume
- Minimum margin level
- Emergency close based on equity, free margin or basket loss
- Basket close when a recovery limit is reached
Some emergency-close and volume-limit options are disabled by default. Configure them for the account balance, deposit currency, leverage and symbol before use.
Trading Sessions and Restart Recovery
Trading days and up to three entry sessions can be configured using broker server time. The EA stores its cycle state inside the terminal and attempts to restore the managed cycle from existing orders and positions after an MT5 or VPS restart.

Requirements

Symbol names, digits, spreads, stop levels and execution conditions vary between brokers. For symbols containing XAU or GOLD, the automatic pip calculation uses 0.1 as one pip. Set Pip Size manually if the broker uses a different contract specification.
Important Risk Information
Dual Surge includes a recovery method that uses opposite trades and can increase trading volume. During an extended one-directional market move, the number of positions, margin requirement and floating loss can rise quickly. The EA manages exits at basket level and is not based primarily on a fixed stop loss for every individual position.
Test the EA with the intended symbol and broker conditions in the Strategy Tester, and then verify its operation on a demo account. Historical test results do not guarantee future performance.
When using a rental license, make sure that no managed orders or positions remain before the rental expires, or renew the rental period in advance.
