AURUM ADX DI + Alerts

ADX and DI with Wilder or TradingView calculation, and alerts on trend strength levels and DI crossovers. Know the moment a trend starts, not three bars later.

AURUM ADX DI + Alerts plots ADX with DI+ and DI- and turns the two events that matter most, trend strength crossing a level and DI+ crossing DI-, into fully configurable alerts. It runs the classic Wilder calculation that MT5 uses, or the Pine v4 calculation that TradingView uses, or both at once on the same chart. Every alert is confirmed on the bar close, so nothing repaints and nothing fires twice.

What it does

Two calculation methods, one chart: classic Wilder (RMA of DX, the MT5 standard) or Pine v4 (SMA of DX, the TradingView standard), switched with a single input. Turn on the dual display and the second method plots as a dotted line, showing exactly where and by how much the two diverge.

ADX level alerts: two independent levels, defaults 10.0 and 20.0, each configurable to any value. The 10 cross marks a range waking up, the 20 cross confirms the move has legs.

Per level direction control: each level alerts on cross from below, cross from above, both, or off. Level 1 both ways for range start and range end, level 2 up only for trend confirmation without the noise on every pullback.

DI crossover alerts: DI+ crossing above DI- is bullish, DI- crossing above DI+ is bearish. Choose bullish only, bearish only, or both.

Minimum ADX filter on DI crossovers: below ADX 20 the DI lines whip across each other constantly and almost every one of those crosses is noise. Set the filter to 20 or 25 and only crossovers inside a genuine trend reach you.

Independent alert families: ADX levels and DI crossovers switch on and off separately. Run either alone or both together.

Bar close confirmation: crosses are evaluated on the last closed bar, so the alert matches what is on your chart. Switch it off for faster intrabar alerts if you prefer speed to certainty.

One alert per event: each level and each direction fires once per bar. No repeated firing tick by tick, and no stale alert on attach unless you ask for one.

Four alert channels: popup, sound, mobile push notification and email, each individually switchable. Every alert is also written to the Experts log with symbol, timeframe, method, direction, level, ADX, DI+ and DI-.

Lightweight: buffer-based calculation with no chart objects, no DLLs and no external calls.

How traders use it

Trend filter: most breakout and trend following systems fail in ranges. Set level 2 to 20 cross from below and you are told the moment strength is sufficient to trade the system, instead of watching the sub window all session.

Directional entry signal: a DI crossover with the ADX floor at 25 is a complete entry trigger on its own, with the direction and the strength confirmation in one alert. No arrows, no repainting, just the cross that actually happened on a closed bar.

Range to trend transition: level 1 at 10 in both directions marks where a range dies and where a trend exhausts back into one. Combined with the 20 level, you get the full cycle without watching the chart.

Migrating a TradingView setup: if a system built on the Pine ADX behaves differently in MT5, the dual display shows why, side by side, on the same bars. Then trade whichever convention your rules were written against.

Stand aside signal: level 2 at 20 cross from above tells you strength has gone out of the move, which is often the point to tighten, take partials or stop taking new entries.

Inputs

Group Key settings
Main Period (default 14); smoothing method (Wilder RMA or Pine v4 SMA); dual display on/off; threshold line
ADX level alerts Enable; cross level 1 (default 10.0) with direction; cross level 2 (default 20.0) with direction. Direction: off, from below, from above, both
DI crossover alerts Enable; direction (bullish, bearish, both); minimum ADX filter (0 = off)
Alert delivery Bar close confirmation; alert on first calculation; popup, sound with file selection, push and email

Works on

  • Any symbol and any timeframe
  • FX, indices, metals, crypto CFDs, futures and exchange-traded instruments
  • MT5 desktop, with push alerts to the MT5 mobile app

Notes

  • DI+ and DI- are identical under both calculation methods. The difference is in how DX is averaged into ADX: Wilder smooths recursively and turns slower, Pine v4 uses a simple average and turns quicker off a low. Neither is wrong, so pick the one your system was built on. Wilder is the default because it matches the MT5 built in ADX
  • The indicator draws in a separate window and creates no chart objects
  • Alerts do not fire in the Strategy Tester. This is a MetaTrader limitation, not a fault in the indicator
  • Enable push notifications in MT5 (Tools, Options, Notifications) to receive mobile alerts, and configure SMTP under Tools, Options, Email for email alerts
  • Buffers for iCustom use: 0 = DI+, 1 = DI-, 2 = ADX in the selected method, 3 = the other method when dual display is on
