Meridian EA is a machine learning trading system powered by two XGBoost gradient-boosted tree models trained on years of real tick data. One model identifies long setups, the other identifies shorts. Both run natively inside MetaTrader 5 as compiled MQL5 code. No internet required, no DLLs, no Python, no external API calls.

HOW IT WORKS
Every new H1 bar, the EA computes 40 normalized market features: price action structure, volatility regime, momentum dynamics, session timing, candle morphology, and trend context across multiple timeframes.
Both models score the current bar independently. A trade is only placed when:
- One model outputs high confidence for a direction
- The other model confirms low probability for the opposite direction
- The confidence gap exceeds a configurable threshold
When the market is unclear, both models produce similar scores and the EA stays flat. It only trades when there is a measurable statistical edge. This dual-model architecture is why the system avoids the choppy losses that destroy most EAs.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
Most products on this marketplace that claim to use AI are either calling an external API (adding latency and breaking in the tester), using a single indicator with "AI" in the product name, or running a basic neural network with no proper validation.

RISK MANAGEMENT
Every trade opens with a hard stop loss and take profit. No exceptions.
- Fixed percentage risk per trade (default 1%, configurable from 0.5% to 3%)
- ATR-based stop loss and take profit that adapts to current volatility
- Maximum trades per day limit
- Maximum simultaneous open positions limit
- Daily loss circuit breaker (pauses all trading after 3% daily drawdown)
- Optional trailing stop that locks in profits as the trade moves in your favor

Most users should run with the presets above. If you want to customize:
- Risk per trade: 0.5% (conservative/prop firms), 1.0% (standard), 1.5%+ (aggressive)
- ML Threshold: Minimum model confidence to enter (default 0.50, conservative uses 0.55)
- ML Margin: Minimum gap between long/short model scores (default 0.06)
- SL/TP Multipliers: ATR-based, auto-adapting to current volatility
- Max Trades Per Day: Limits daily entries (2 for conservative, 3 for balanced)
- Skip Friday: Avoids holding trades over the weekend
- Broker GMT Offset: Match your broker server time (most use GMT+2 or GMT+3)
