2007-2023 backtest.  As you can see, the EA shows almost identical performance in the out-of-sample period, which is a great indicator for future performance!

you bought the MT4 version, so that won't work on MT5.


If you have not yet installed it on an MT4, you can still cancel the MT4 purchase, and make the MT5  purchase


If you need to download the MT4 version, simply go to your MT4 terminal (make sure you are logged in into the MQL5 community in the platform) and go to "market -> purchased".  you'll find all your purchased EA's for download there

These 2 EA's are doing amazing last month.  Both very simple but effective strategies on daily chart.  no grid, low risk, SL on each trade.  Still at discounted price!  Won't be long before I have to increase the price again with these kind of performance.

I can not explain that based on that single picture you posted.  I surely don’t get such a drawdown in my backtests on 5 different brokers.

Please provide more info on your backtest so I can see what you might be doing wrong

I need: Ea setting, backtest settings, balance used, etc

Did you run on daily timeframe?

This is duckascopy tickdata 100% correct. (my broker is ICmarkets). I only Simply use default settings but change the lotsize calculation method to “use risk per trade” as you explained me. Start balance 600$

This is the best I get: 35% drawdown on risk 1% But profit 99 dollar in 10 months

Ok, so you used “current spread” in the weekend… that is why the backtest is so bad.

Current spread is not the same as real, variable spread, which I use in my backtests.
If you use current spread in the weekend it will use the spread of Friday evening right before the market closes. Which is extremely high and not a real useable spread for any pairs or EA. Try either using real variable spread (you need the paid version of Tickdata suite 2 for that, or MT5 can do that too), or set the fixed spread to a value which is more realistic for Xauusd, “30” in the mt4 strategy tester.

I did the backtests also on tds2 and those results were perfectly in line with all my other tests

Let me know if this explains it, and if your backtests are more in line with mine after this

Current spread on tickdata is the only realistic backtest. When your EA trades at a moment I do get the spread from that moment.When it trades Friday night, I get the spread form that moment. Every backtest on spread 30 looks 10 times better than it is in real.
