Hi, I am Jan, developer of this indicator.
Please feel free to ask me anything about this, or my other products.
Regards,
Jan
Good day. I need an indicator that will show a reversal on the lowest possible timeframe (М1 / М5 / М15). Would you recommend your development in this case?
Hi and thanks for your message.
MACD, OsMA and Stochastics (10,3,3) seem to be the most productive oscillators. USDCHF can also be used with CCI divergence. I am more of a swing trader. Due to the fact that I have a regular full-time work I just don't have the time and ability to concentrate on intraday trading (on lower timeframes like the ones you suggested). For this reason I trade only on time frames H4 and larger. For sure you will be able to trade divergences also on M1 up to M15. But it will be for scalping purposes which means a that you will never get a proper risk/reward ration. My long time experience is that trading this way might work for a couple of week but not a solution in the long term.
I always recommend having the value in the 'Divergence candle shift' paramter set to 2 (confirmed divergence, alert 2 candles later) in my indicators. When having Candle shift set to 1 (pending/unconfirmed divergence) the indicator is not alerting directly on opening of the next candle but always waits for the slope in the indicator window to change direction (= the price must show some sign of reversing). When that happens you will get a so called intracandle alert. Trading directly on candle open (Cande shift 0) is dangerous and is more intended for scalping and VERY experienced divergence traders. Moreover you will get a lot of repaints (repeated alerts).
Trading regular divergences demands more experience from the trader. As I start to understand you don't have so much experience with divergences. It is a good idea to monitor a trend line breakout in combination with the divergence. I know that many traders are successul with trading hidden (trend continuation) divergences. Here is an article which describes trend lines breakouts in combination with a hidden divergence:
https://www.orbex.com/blog/en/2017/06/simple-technique-improve-trend-line-breakouts
Hidden divergences should be traded in combination with Moving average (MA). You can use a MA filter with my scanner. A typical setup could be to trade H1 and higher and set slow MA to 200 and fast MA to 34 and set the MA time frame to one time frame higher then the scanning time frame. The best oscillator for hidden is Stochastics or OBV.
Personally a focus on divergences when they occur at a strict V formation (double top/bottom) and in a overough/oversold condition and also at or close to a supply/demand zone (for this purpose I am using this indicator: https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/20582
Divergences which occur at such levels are very strong setups. The screenshot below shows a strict (sharp) V formation which I typically trade when there is a MACD divergence followed by some kind of indecision/rejection formation. In this case a pin bar. I take the trade when a regular (classical) divergence occurs at such a zone and price is showing signs of stalling and for instance the ADX indicator has a value below 30. A good sign is if there is a double divergence and/or a divergence which has been repeated on the last 2 candles (for this you will need to use Candle shift 0). I set stop loss under/over the outer zone border with a 8% ADR (average daily range) offset. We can take the example that a pair has a 20 day ADR of around 100 pips. 8% of that is 8 pips. I set take profit according to my own analysis.
Finally 2 good articles and a video for studying:

At the moment I don't have more information. But please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have. I will be glad to assist :-)
Best regards,
Jan
the only problem in divergence is that signal is delayed .. arrow appear not the next candle at opening but the 2nd opening
Hi and thanks for using my Divergence indicator :-)
You will be able to get the alerts one candle earlier by setting the value in the 'Divergence candle shift' to 0 (the default value is 2). This is also explained in the product description.
Best regards,
Jan
Hi Thanks for the sharing. Going to try your indicator. Is this indicator repaint or fix?
Hi and sorry for late answer. MQL5 have a long time problem with the notification system. I did not see your message until today:
https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/377063
This indicator will repaint since divergences can expand quite a bit, especially in the Forex market.
Best regards,
Jan

would it be possible to click ( cycle) throught the various divergence indies instead of stop- change- test- stop- change indies etc
would Buttons help here?
thanks -- good indicator
Hi Jan,
Thank you for making the divergence indicator!
Could you add an option to hide showing the divergence lines on bar chart? Seeing the lines on the indicator oscillator is enough for me, and the lines on the cantles cause too much clutter there (I have moving average, support/resistance lines on candles etc).

I will write you a private message here on MQL5 in a short while and we will continue from there.

Good night, I would like to know if he repaints (repaints)?

Hello,
since divergences can expand quite a bit, especially in the Forex market, this indicator can repaint. That is why I recommend keeping the value in the 'Divergence candle shift' input parameter to 2 in order to get a stronger confirmation of the divergence.
Best regards,
Jan

Hello Olivier and thanks for using my Divergence indicator :-)
The paid version supports alert, has trend filters and offers some other filters and breakout options. Also, an EA comes bundled with the paid version. I am also offering another free Divergence EA:

In the product's blog you can now compare the features in the free version vs. the paid version. The green marked items are available in the free version.
If I purchase the full version, could you please provide one with a different interface so that I can pass the symbol?
Thank you
Hi, I am planning to use the paid version on a custom multi symbols scanner EA. Looking at the free version, when creating a handler "iCustom(NULL, 0, "Market\\Multi indicator divergence.ex4", ...)" I don't see an option to pass the symbol, presumably it uses the current chart symbol, which is not ideal for what I would be using it for.
If I purchase the full version, could you please provide one with a different interface so that I can pass the symbol?
Thank you
Hi and thanks for using my Divergence indicator :-)
To pass in another symbol you will need to use it like this: "iCustom("nameofsymbol", 0, "Market\\Multi indicator divergence.ex4".
Best regards,
Jan
