Aurum Pivot Point Breakout

Aurum Pivot Point Breakout Free is a free breakout Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. It trades breakouts of the classic daily floor-pivot R1 and S1 levels with stop orders, an ATR-based stop and a trailing exit.

Position size is a fixed percentage of the current balance, so the lot size grows and shrinks with the account.

Logic

  • Calculates classic floor pivots from the previous day (P, R1, S1).
  • Places a buy stop above R1 and a sell stop below S1.
  • Each level is traded once; orders expire with the day.
  • Initial stop is 0.6 x daily ATR; a 2.0 x ATR trail follows.
  • Positions close after 240 hours if still open.
  • Lot size = 1% of balance at risk, so it compounds.

  • Pivot: classic R1 / S1
  • Initial stop: 0.6 x daily ATR
  • Exit style: Trailing stop

  • Entry offset: 0.03 x daily ATR
  • Daily ATR period: 14
  • Max spread: 0.05 x daily ATR
  • Magic number: 861004

The defaults were selected for BTCUSD. The EA runs on any symbol and chart, but other symbols need their own testing and settings. Attach it to one chart per symbol; the chart timeframe does not change the logic.

Historical simulation

MT5 Strategy Tester simulation on BTCUSD, 2019-01-01 to 2026-09-30, 1-minute OHLC model, USD 5,000 start, default inputs. Per calendar year: 2019: +28.9%, 2020: +20.3%, 2021: -5.0%, 2022: +5.9%, 2023: +19.1%, 2024: +28.2%, 2025: -0.5%, 2026: +30.6%. Trades: 816. Maximum equity drawdown: 19.9%. This is a simulation on one broker's price history. It is not live trading and does not predict future results.

Important limits

Breakout systems have long flat or losing periods. Results depend on the broker's spread, swap, contract size and trading hours. Test on a demo account first and use risk you can afford to lose. Trading decisions remain with the user.
