Sentinel is a rules-based breakout system built around a single trading engine per symbol — no grid, no martingale, no averaging into losers. Every trade carries a pre-defined, ATR-relative stop loss and take profit, so risk is expressed as a percentage of account balance rather than fixed points. This makes the system naturally adaptive across instruments and volatility regimes.
Position management includes automatic breakeven and ATR-based trailing, allowing winning trades to develop while protecting capital once a trade moves favorably.
Core Logic (high level)
- Signal: Channel-breakout entry with trend filter, evaluated once per closed bar (not on every tick).
- Risk sizing: Position size is calculated dynamically from account balance, risk %, and current ATR-based stop distance — not a fixed lot size.
- Stop Loss / Take Profit: Both expressed as multiples of ATR, so they scale automatically with volatility rather than using fixed point distances.
- Trade management: Breakeven trigger and trailing stop, both ATR-relative, with a minimum step to avoid excessive order modification.
- Safety layer: Continuous margin-level monitoring, an emergency drawdown circuit breaker (based on both balance and equity), and a hard cap on simultaneous open positions per symbol.
Full entry/exit logic and internal formulas are proprietary and not disclosed in this document.
