Stop guessing reversals. Let strong-candle exhaustion tell you where price is likely to turn.
VBC Indicator is a price-action tool for MetaTrader 5 that automatically detects exhausted directional moves — runs of strong, same-color candles that have pushed far enough, fast enough — and marks the point where a reversal setup is forming. No repainting logic, no lagging moving averages, no indicator soup on your chart. Just clean arrows, a "wait" confirmation line, and a take-profit level, drawn directly on the candles that created the signal.
What It Does
- Finds exhaustion moves. The indicator scans for a run of consecutive "strong" candles (bodies above a minimum size you control) that together cover a minimum price range. This is the footprint of a move that has likely run too far, too fast.
- Waits for confirmation. A signal only qualifies once an opposite-color candle appears right after the run, and that candle's body is large enough relative to the last candle in the run — filtering out weak, indecisive reversals.
- Marks the trade zone on your chart:
- Arrow — marks the confirmation candle (up arrow for a buy setup, down arrow for a sell setup).
- Wait Buy / Wait Sell line — the reference level at the close of the last candle in the exhausted run. This is your "wait for price to reach here" line.
- Take Profit line — projected from the origin candle of the exhausted move, giving you a logical target based on where the move actually started.
Every signal is drawn as native chart objects (trendlines, text, arrows) — so it works in your terminal exactly as you see it in this description, and objects update live as new candles close.
Best Market & Timeframe
VBC Indicator is built and tuned first for Gold (XAU/USD), and works well across M15, M30, H1, and H4. Gold's characteristic sharp, extended pushes followed by sharp reversals are exactly the kind of move this indicator is designed to catch.
Using It on Forex Pairs
The default settings are calibrated for gold's volatility. To use VBC Indicator on currency pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, etc.), lower two inputs so the indicator's sensitivity matches the smaller average ranges of forex:
- "Minimum range of the candle group, in points" — default is 600 for gold; reduce this for forex pairs (start by testing smaller values and adjust to the pair's typical volatility).
- "Minimum body size, in points, for a candle to count as 'strong'" — reduce this as well, so ordinary forex candle bodies can qualify as "strong" instead of only unusually large ones.
With these two values scaled down, VBC Indicator works well on forex pairs from M15 and higher.
Manual Take-Profit Rule (When No TP Line Appears)
The Take Profit line only draws when there is a genuine wick-to-wick gap between the first and last candle of the exhausted run — this keeps the projected target meaningful instead of arbitrary. When that gap isn't present, no TP line is drawn, but you can still set your target manually using a simple 1:2 risk-reward rule:
- Sell setup: Measure the distance from the Wait Sell level up to the highest high of the signal candle pair. Project that same distance twice downward from the Wait Sell level to get your Take Profit.
- Buy setup: Mirror the same logic — measure from the Wait Buy level down to the lowest low of the signal candle pair, and project that distance twice upward for your Take Profit.
In short: risk = distance to the extreme of the signal candles, reward = 2× that risk.
Key Inputs
| Input | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Minimum body size (points) | How large a candle's body must be to count as "strong" |
| Minimum range of the candle group (points) | How far the exhausted run must have traveled in total |
| Minimum consecutive candles | How many same-color "strong" candles are required before a signal can qualify |
| Arrow codes / colors | Customize the look of buy/sell arrows |
| Wait line colors | Customize the "Wait Buy" / "Wait Sell" reference lines |
| Take Profit color | Customize the projected TP line |
| Show labels | Toggle text labels next to each line |
| Require gap for TP | Keep the strict gap requirement for the TP line, or relax it |
| Delete objects on removal | Auto-clean all chart objects when you remove the indicator |
Why Traders Use VBC Indicator
- Objective entries — no more eyeballing "does this look exhausted yet?" The indicator quantifies it.
- Built-in patience — the Wait line stops you from jumping in on the confirmation candle itself; it marks the level to wait for.
- A logical, chart-derived target — the TP level comes from the actual origin of the move, not a fixed multiple pip target.
- Works alongside your own system — VBC Indicator flags high-probability reversal zones; you still apply your own risk management and trade management on top.
VBC Indicator is an analytical tool, not an automated trading system. It does not place trades, guarantee profits, or replace sound risk management. Always test on a demo account before live use.
