TOM HOTMAN Hanuman - Automated Breakout Trading System

TOM HOTMAN Hanuman is a fully automated Expert Advisor (EA) based on a breakout trading strategy. The system is designed to detect price swing highs and swing lows (Pivots) from historical candle data to strategically place pending orders (Buy Stop and Sell Stop).

System Logic and Operation

  • Entry Mechanism: The EA scans historical candles to identify pivot points based on a predefined number of left and right bars. Once a pivot is detected, it places Buy Stop orders at resistance levels and Sell Stop orders at support levels.

  • Order Execution: When the market price breaks through the pivot point plus a defined entry buffer, the pending order is triggered.

  • Trend Filter: The system includes an optional EMA trend filter. When enabled, the EA will only place pending orders in the direction of the main trend.

  • Intrabar Engine: An optional secondary engine that scans for breakout opportunities on lower timeframes (e.g., M1), utilizing the Average True Range (ATR) to filter out low-volatility price ranges.

Risk Management and Safety Features

  • Lot Sizing: Supports both fixed lot sizes and automatic lot calculation based on a defined risk percentage of the account balance or equity.

  • Aggregate Risk Limit: Monitors the total risk of all open positions and pending orders. If the cumulative risk exceeds the user-defined limit, no additional orders are placed.

  • Spread Filter: The system will not place orders if the current market spread exceeds the maximum allowed limit.

  • Trailing Stop: Once a position reaches a predefined profit level, the system automatically adjusts the Stop Loss to lock in profits as the price moves favorably.

  • Stale Order Clearance: Pending orders that are not triggered within a specified time limit (in minutes) are automatically deleted to prevent outdated entries.

Time Management

  • Friday Expiration: An optional feature to automatically delete all pending orders on Friday evenings before the market closes.

  • Holiday Flat Protection: An optional feature to close active positions and stop trading during major holidays to avoid low liquidity and high slippage conditions.

Dashboard Interface

  • The EA features an on-chart dashboard panel that displays real-time operational status, including active position counts, pending orders, floating profit/loss, historical win rate, and the current market spread.

Usage Recommendations

  • Minimum Starting Capital: 50 USD.

  • Recommended Symbols: Major currency pairs (such as EURUSD, GBPUSD) and Gold (XAUUSD).

  • Recommended Timeframe: M30 (Main Signal Timeframe).

  • Account Type: Low spread, Zero, or Raw Spread accounts are highly recommended for breakout strategies.

  • Setup: Running the EA on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) is recommended to ensure continuous operation for trailing stops and pending order modifications.
